  1. Doesn't look like he offers goals whatsoever though? At least Rodriguez showed that a bit before stepping up with us. I don't think he's even first choice for Norwich most weeks. Guess we're buying potential, but still would be a strange one to sink £8m into.

I think its just his way of dealing with things when he gets angry and confused while struggling to understand what is being discussed.
  3. Redmond isn't even first choice for Norwich every week, on the bench for them quite often. We'd obviously be buying potential, but £8m is a lot to shell out for a player that isn't considered good enough for Norwich's first team.
  4. January is a very tough time to bring in good players at sensible prices though.
  5. But that's not the point being put forward on this thread - it was suggested that some of our younger players should still be with the U21s now, rather than forming part of the current squad. I've been critical of Hodgson for a variety of reasons, but I think he's done a good job in giving young players an opportunity to break through in most cases.
  6. I think if Forster plays on Tuesday he's been given the short end of a deal from Hodgson, it will be a tough night for England, a much harder test for an England keeper than Slovenia or San Marino at home.
  7. I've got no idea if true or not, but is he Man City's quality? Are the newspaper articles suggesting a January sale? Are there that many teams that will be happy sinking big money in a player who has had so long off for such a serious injury? I guess he helps with the homegrown quota.

Where have I apologised for anyone being a rapist? I'm sure you can highlight the posts? Not like you to be wrong and confused is it
  9. I don't think Podolski is our kind of signing. We need strength off the bench and through the squad - hardest thing for a club our size to convince good players to come here and possibly sit on the bench for a fair bit.

Are you still crying your eyes out over what people write on your Facebook about a Sainsburys advert? Stay strong kid.
  11. An incoming link that doesn't seem to go away http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-eyeing-nathan-redmond---4636231 Guess he'd definitely strengthen our squad, can't see him being a starter.
  12. But at what point to you step them up? You'd want to do it in advance of a major competition, get the players integrated into the team and squad, which is what is happening.
  13. They're playing for Man Utd, Liverpool etc, Champions League football, high pressure expectations, playing them in the U21s rather than the first XI for England won't make any difference.
  14. But why do you think other players got such tributes and Lallana didn't?
  15. But what if your best team is a mix of experienced players witha few young ones thrown in (as is the case with England) - surely it makes sense to use the qualifying campaign as an opportunity to bond them into a united squad, fully prepared to hit the ground running.

    Wind your neck in kid.
  18. Do you have a problem with our Captain dreaming of playing for the opposition?
  19. But surely it's better to integrate your best players into one team/squad, bond them together, so they're well set for the start of Euro 2014, rather than throwing in a few players that have never played together before.
  20. Exactly. Obviously not a classic game, but patience to break down an organised, stubborn opposition. Hardly any games are thrillingly exciting easy wins.
  21. What would they learn playing for the U21s that they wouldn't learn playing for the full side or their clubs?
  22. What does "showing self respect" in the context of a team playing a game of football even mean? England were the better side all game and won by two goals. Have you seen some of the results from around European football? Winning a game by two goals is a reasonable effort, job done.
  23. Yep, I thought he was decent, thought Welbeck was good as well. I thought Clyne played within himself a bit & didn't bomb on as much as he does for; not sure if that was confidence, managerial instruction, or the fact that Slovenia seemed to keep a few players upfront for a lot of the game.
  24. It wasn't that bad. What exactly were you expecting? Hard working opposition that made life difficult. Have you seen the results that have been happening in international football over the last 6 months?
  25. Why would them playing in the U21s make them better players? They're good enough for regular Prem starts, Champions League games etc.
