It'd be great to see a 40k+ St Marys, but financially it doesn't make a whole load of sense, certainly a gamble for us, same with hotels, restaurants etc. Nice idea though.

I just don't think Ramirez is MP's type of player, too liberal with his use of the ball. We are very, very focused on retaining possession and managing the game, Ramirez just isn't great at that, despite his ability.

Not really, most people I know thought we'd be comfortably mid table, which is what we are. If anything, most would have assumed we'd have a good go at the cups and a chance of Europe through that, but we all know how that turned out, so let's not go down that road again.

We've definitely done poorly in that market place, considering our success elsewhere. Would make the club a bit of money, will have to wait and see what else they have in mind I guess.

Definitely doesn't sound like we're up for sale. It raises a few other questions; why continue owning us? As an expensive hobby/challenge? Do they feel they can make more money out of the club long-term?

Souds an impressive individual, still not entirely clear what his role will be - talk of "untapped commercial potential" - not sure what that refers to. Definitely doesn't sound like a club that is up for sale any time soon.

The problem is, he probably did as much as anyone to encourage the implementation of further automation in the industry. London's transport network is not going to put up with being reliant on such a militant union.

Exactly. It went a long way beyond ensuring the working man got a fair pay deal.

How much of a business background has he got? At the moment, it is very hard to make a judement on this appointment in isolation, without knowing who else he'll be working with.

A "hero" to who? Tube drivers are never going to be paid 'peanuts'.

Happy to give the bloke a chance and can see many positives he could bring to the club, but in isolation, his appointment to the specific role of chairman is a bit odd. I guess it will be worth waiting to see what the whole new boardroom team look and act like before really being able to make any judgement.

We aren't going to come close to Europa League qualification this season.

How did that stop them being exploited?

How did Bob Crow protect workers from being exploited?

How many gems has our scouting network really picked out unexpectedly? It's a tough ask, but I don't think our scouting network has particularly stood out as impressive over the last few years.

England has produced plenty of world class players over the years, so while it's certainly good that improvements are made to the system, we'vestill been top 10 in the world. I don't think any one on this thread has suggested the purpose of loaning players out is to "toughen em up", quite a simplistic, black and white view.

In terms of current league/cup positions, yes I would swap places with Hull.

Yeah, I know that, was just wondering if the deal would be negotiated as one whole package for all of them or he gets sorted and their's get done as and when. Doesn't really matter, I just realised I don't know how that side of football works. Potentially good news for the club, would be good to have it all signed and sealed before the end of the season.
