  1. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/immigration/10545457/Non-EU-citizens-will-be-able-to-work-in-Britain-after-Bulgarian-restrictions-lifted.html If true, this could significantly add to the numbers coming.
  2. You think we should go through half a season with Osvaldo as our only experienced striker?
  3. That reads to me that he won't be going anywhere in Jan, but things to re reassessed in the summer and that Ramirez was possibly pushing for a move, but Cortese blocked it?
  4. Has anyone on this thread suggested that thousands of immigrants will be flooding in tomorrow? The question was asked of the forum on their views and most have given them one way or another. Do you think it would be a good thing for the UK if 0.5million people from Bulgaria/Romania arrived here over the next 2 years lets say?
  5. But that's not what we're being offered is it? There isn't much point making up hypothetical scenarios. What we are getting is youngish immigrants that proportionately raise the level of crime. And we're swapping them for sending over wealthy retirees to Spain and France and skilled workers to Canada, New Zealand and Australia, all as your own report shows contribute proportionately lower to crime levels. I'm not sure why it is so hard to understand?
  6. Please tell me you're kidding?
  7. Yes I read that bit and chuckled. The fact is, based on the report you yourself have posted on here, immigrants are more likely to commit crime. The weighted by age bit is completely irrelevant.
  8. "The overall monthly arrest rate for immigrants is significantly higher at 3.8 arrests per 1000 population than that for the 2.8 arrests per 1000 population for UK nationals to 3.5 arrests per 1000 population for Non-UK nationals."
  9. I'm not going to read that whole report now, but does it not simply say there is no correlation in the figures, not that there isn't any actual links from certain communities? Regardless, I don't think nyone has really been discussing crime in this thread.
  10. But that's not the point you were making in your post at the top of the page. And yes, just because there are still fairly high levels of immigration from India, why is that an argument for opening our borders to the whole of Romania and Bulgaria?
  11. Yep, except that's not what is currently happening.
  12. Yes, we understand the point thanks. Exactly how hard do you think it was to go on holiday to Spain previously?
  13. Yeah, you have to accept millions of Eastern European migrants or you can't go on holiday to Spain?
  14. Exactly that. I'd have no problem is Spain decided they wanted to regain control over their own borders. It was never exactly hard to travel to Spain or live there before the opening up of borders was it?
  15. Reckon he'll be sold in the summer unless things drastically change between now and then.
  16. Lallana is not the "soul of the club" is he. Centre Forwards that score s**t loads of goals are always going to be given hero status, that's football. Lallana seems pretty popular with fans to me.
  17. Erm, as we import more from the EU than we export, I'm pretty sure they will not want to lose us as a market - we'd still be in a pretty strong position to negotiate.
  18. Have you got stats/evidence to support this?
  19. We were told immigration from the former Eastern Bloc would be in the thousands when they were brought into the EU back in 2004, how did that work out? What about the numerous Eastern Europeans that moved to East Anglia, many of which ended up living on the streets? Or the numerous schools across the country that are trying to cope with teaching young children with a myriad of different first languages? No-way is taking it literally that every plane from Bulgaria and Romania is packed today, but over the next 6 months, who knows? Cheap coach travel is the preferred mode of transport for many anyway. Also, London deserted at the weekend? You've got to be kidding, unless you're simply referring to the square mile? Schools, GPs and Public transport are all at breaking point around many parts of London as well. Why compare London to Delhi and not, for example Sydney?
  20. If the minimum is 8th, then that suggests he won't be happy with 9th?
  21. It could well be argued that the South East of England is for example.
  22. Maybe I've read these wrong, but does the 2nd link not refer to all immigration? There is not much point classing a single multi-millionaire footballer's fiscal contribution to a country in the same figures as a father of 4 working as a mini cab driver for example.
