  1. Well summed up. There is loads of room for improvement, but it's no-where near as bad as is being made out. What I'd really like is to see the bottom end of town used more, some great old buildings, the city walls, would feel like a really lively, proper city. Can't believe a pub like the Ferryman and Firkin has been empty for so long.
  2. Lennons and Junk off the top of my head.
  3. 2am cut off point? Not in Southampton as far as I'm aware.
  4. He'd love this forum.
  5. Those ITK on those lad, any ideas why more clubs aren't trying to sign him at this price?
  6. How many teams not competing in Europe often 'rotate' key players out of the team? Why doesn't this theory also apply to our full back positions?
  7. How are you working those numbers out? Seem a bit high to me.
  8. So apart from his poor distribution, wasteful shooting and his rash tackling you think he's destined for greater things than Southampton?
  9. So you don't agree that Everton & Spurs were still generally considered bigger clubs than Palace, Norwich, Blackburn & Sheff Weds at the end of the 90s?
  10. Yet they were still considered much bigger clubs than many on that list, so what does that tell you?
  11. Been a mad test match this. Tense now.
  12. Strange one. He's going to need to make his mind up soon. Us and Zenit won't wait forever and will start working on other targets, Man City might go for another striker and he has no future whatsoever at Roma - playing a season without decent pre season prep isn't going to do his world cup hopes much good.
  13. Don't know where they'll be staying, but the games will be in Villach.
  14. Don't bother then.
  15. What about Liverpool's European cup wins from the 70s/80s?
  16. 17 goals from 50 appearances (fair few off the bench) last season at the top level, including a goal every other game in the Prem, matching our centre forward Lambert as the highest English scorer in the League. This has got to be a wind up?
  17. The England team that in it's last two games against Brazil drew 2-2 over there and won 2-1 at home? Full backs? Leighton Baines, Ashley Cole? Johnson is currently still better than Clyne, although there's not too much in it. CBs? Jones, Lescott, Jagielka, Cahill - all better than what we currently have.
  18. How much have you had to drink today?
  19. Think a few people on this thread have been out in the sun too long today. Mental.
  20. But as I say, take Lambert as an example. If we were in the Prem in 2009, would we have spent £1m on a Bristol Rovers striker? Or spent biggish money on a foreign forward?
  21. Cheers mush, top stuff!
  22. Exactly. It is difficult for English players to get that "break" that you need sometimes these days. Think there is a perception, that foreign automatically equals better. Applies to managers as well.
  23. But as a general point it could be argued that it does compromise the progress of English talent. If we were in the Prem in 2009 would we have gone for Lambert? Or an expensive foreign option?
  24. With little back up in at full back we're going to be asking for a ridiculous amount from Clyne and Shaw next season.
