What a complete shambles our ticket office is!!
Sour Mash replied to Saint_Donovan's topic in The Saints
You're missing the point. It's how they communicate that how to their paying customers that is the problem, not the choice of ID in itself necessarily. And as a separate point lots of people that qualify for a concession ticket could be earning pretty decent money and plenty that don't qualify for a concession have hardly any money at all. -

A valid NUS card is a valid proof of concession, is used everywhere else and is very difficult to fake. The OP was then told directly what to do by the club, did it, and was then told that was still wrong. -
Correct. This will be moved to a midweek fixture.

Well many on here love to take the p**s out of the fan on the board idea (which obviously wouldn't work in our current model), stuff like this is a good example of the need in having some sort of conduit between fans and the club to feedback on areas for improvement, things that would make fans lives easier etc. -

Exactly. Make it clear what people need to do and stick with it. Would save both sides a lot of time and effort. -

Putting to one side whether the requirements are over the top or not, surely you can see how bad the quality of communication is to a customer trying to spend hundreds of pounds? Also, I would say an Enrolment letter is easier to fake than a valid NUS card? -
That's sort of my point. Saints fans are going to have to get used to paying £35-45 a game on a regular basis unfortunately. I'd imagine that £25 is in line with what most other Prem teams charge for a prestigious friendly.

For those that think thes prices are too high, what sort of prices do you think will be reasonable for league games this coming season?
-
Well they're obviously not going to be youth teams are they?
-
I went to the Emirates tournament in 2009, saw PSG v Atletico Madrid and Arsenal v Rangers, so slightly different format, was £30/35 for a decent seat, so I guess that’s about the going rate for such things. Arsenal had a full house and 8,000 Rangers in attendance. Was a bit later in the Pre-season and not a direct comparison for various other reasons though.

Our Future? Stadium Expansion Proposal on Season Ticket DVD
Sour Mash replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Surely even you must understand the difference in relevance between one person and ten.thousand in the context of this debate? Obviously as a rough guess how many extra people from the city of Portsmouth do you expect to want to come to St Marys to watch Premier League football? -

Then the point had no relevance to Saints increasing their home support. Brilliant. -

So you know that the City of Portsmouth is not a relevant source of any kind of significant support for Saints and won't be for at least 30 or 40 years. Glad we've finally got that clear. -

Think 'The9' did if you look back. Just so we know, how many Premier League fans can we expect from.the city of Portsmouth next season? -
The club seem to now use 'Together we stand' which is pretty good as far as these things go. Not sure what that would be in Latin though.

Look we need to expand St Marys asap so people from Portsmouth can come and watch Premier League football and neutrals from Basingstoke can come once a year to see Man Utd play. I'd have thought that would be pretty obvious for anyone that knows anything about football? -

Absolute made up rubbish. And why must we "grab and hook the rest"? -

Talk about confused. I don't think there is one person on this thread that doesn't think Saints could increase attendances if successful. But don't let that get in the way of having a bitter, frustrated rant. -

The only other club I can really think where this might have applied, is the increase in crowds at Reading - and I definitely don't want to be like them regardless of how much money we might make. -

So Aston Villa only draw fans from Birmingham? No-one is saying that we don't pull fans in from different bits of Hampshire or that our support will never grow from what it currently is. And on a slightly separate point why are so many on here keen to see casual fans that just want to see a bit of Premier League football turning up at St Marys, I can't think of anything worse. Hopefully they'll continue to do what they've always done for their "fix" of top-flight action. -
Any kind of video replay or anything that would stop the flow of the game just wouldn't work. If they can get a Hawkeye type system to flash up when the ball has crossed the line that might just about be workable.

Ellis Island was my favourite bit over there, fascinating, well worth spending at least half a day doing it.

Do you honestly believe Saints are bigger than either Villa or Everton? Just a yes or no question. -

Exactly. I've seen them be described as "plans" and "designs", when they are neither, just nice looking drawings that's all. -

It's a slightly separate point to the one being discussed here, but I'm not sure how many fans we have that will be happy paying £40+ on a regular basis for their football, I know a lot that aren't.
