Notts County away - 2nd batch of tickets requested
Sour Mash replied to marc_saint's topic in The Saints
Fully agree, always book up our trains well in advance. However, not too sure what to do about Oldham at the moment, FA Cup 3rd round day isn't it? -
I thought considering the ticket prices, anything lower would have been disappointing.

Agreed, being the anorak that I am, had a look at that the other week, important information for those that care about such things -
Anyone know if beer is sold in the away end?
-
Is anyone actually excited by this announcement? We've heard it all before, they're not going to be liquidated now, just them playing a clever game yet again. Cheats.

The "I'm not sure I can be R-Sed to go to the Oldham game" thread
Sour Mash replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
I can't think of anything worse than that. Anyone been going to watch Saints because the football is good/exciting or they're going to be watching a winning team in the last 15/20 years would have generally been left disappointed more often than not. Going to football is meant to be a laugh. Have a day out, have a laugh with your mates, cheer your team on, enjoy the game for what it is. I probably enjoy games like tomorrow more than the so called "bigger" games as its not life and death if we win. -
Why is it wrong? You know the situation when you sign the player and it is a calculated risk that has to be managed. The price a club pays will always reflect the calculated risk that buying a particular player will entail. I can't stand Holloway, he's a weird, big-mouthed, attention seeking cretin. Done a great job at Blackpool, can't take that away from him, but his opinions are no-way near as original, amusing or intelligent as he obviously thinks they are.

To be fair Iain Wright always seemed to get plenty of goals against us (or that's how I remember it), can remember at least one if not more hatricks, used to hate him for it. Good shout on Ekelund, although I'm never sure why he was hero worshipped so much, couple of quality performances in a good run of wins, but wasn't here long enough to really become established in my eyes. Eyal Berkovic was absolute class for us when he was in the mood. ALways remember Neil Heaney getting loads of stick from the lower east, yet another player who showed promise but never kicked on with his career!

2-0 up at home at half time in the FA Cup replay to Spurs, going on to lose 6-2 after extra time, probably my low point of the 90s! Barry Horne's two screamer's in the cup were a definite highlight, great cup run that was beating United on pens at Old Trafford, who said Branfoot was all bad?
-
Richard Dryden as well, with Graham Potter left back. Other class players such as David Lee, Perry Groves and Mark Draper should be commended for their contributions to Saints throughout the 90s!
-
Good list that, Duncan Spedding! Chris Woods in goal? Steve Wood centre back? Paul Moody upfront?
-
Some good calls there pal, I enjoyed the 90s, plenty of good football and loads of good times watching Saints, stand outs have to be the various relegation escapes and regularly turning over bigger teams at home. Standing in the East Archers and piling down the aisle between blocks 4 and 5 when Saints scored, good times.

Very frustrating game and result. Had really been looking forward to Saturday and thought it'd be a really tough game, with two evenly matched teams going at it. For whatever reason Hudds rose to the occasion, we didn't, they were hungrier, sharper and more aggressive and blew us away in the first 30 mins. I agree that Adkins should have probably gone with Barnard and Jaidi, but even with the team we put out we should have been MUCH better than that. Sometimes I get the feeling it doesn't matter what we change in terms of personal at this club, we're stuck with a losing mentality. Decent numbers of Saints travelled I thought, but very quiet. Cr@p pie in the ground, excellent ale in the various pubs around Huddersfield, the football ruining an otherwise good away day yet again!

The George is a rubbish pub, don't bother.
-
Cheers, just had a look, probably won't be @rsed walking that far. How busy does the Sportsman get on match days?
-
Reckon I'll give that Slubbers Arms a go after a few in one of the station pubs, love a pint or five of Timothy Taylor Landlord.
-
Agree, that it was a really good performance (despite the garbage opposition), just wondering how Adkins is going to work it if the whole squad is fit and available? Possible few selection headaches coming up.
-
Anyone know how many we've sold so far? Cab't see us selling 1.4k by the 22nd, so my earlier prediction of selling out might be correct ha!
-
Scrap that, just had a look and Huddersfield had over 3k when they played there earlier in the season, so shouldn't be any problems with tickets.
-
Not happy about that, would be much better in the end behind the goal. Anyone know what the maximum allocation we'll be getting for this? Got a feeling it might sell out.
-
12.30 is a good time to pick up, shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes at that time of day.
-
Yeah, that was kind of my point with the quotes, still a good deal, but maybe not the clearest communication.
-
Much rather just find a proper boozer with a couple of bar girls with decent t1ts to be honest!
-
Oh for f**ks sake, how can we even get a good offer like this wrong? It says on that article "There is no limit on the number of offer tickets available. However, please note that these offers WILL NOT be available on the day of the games". But on the other hand further up the page it says "Season ticket holders needn't feel left out as they have the opportunity to purchase an additional ticket for just £7.50 with no age restirctions". So it is only one per season ticket, just not entirely clear in the original article!

I take it this deal has to also apply for away fans? If so, then the three teams might bring a few, but otherwise can't see much more than 300/400 max away fans for any of the three teams we're playing, 22/23k would still be good attendances for any of these I reckon, but it's now a chance for fans to show that if ticket prices are dropped they will start filling the ground, takes away a lot of people's reason for not attending or is it just the "glamour" of the opposition that makes the difference?
