Walsall Weather Watch / Build-up Thread - Game called off!
Sour Mash replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
Which will then be called off 30 mintues before kick off due to a sudden snow storm. It's going to be that sort of season -
I had a quick check the other day and there were buses running back from Oldham to Manc. Maybe not right from the ground, but certainly walking distance from the ground. Did it by cab last year and it wasn't too expensive, easier and a lot less hassle than a bus as well.
-
All true, but so far no midweek away cup games, so guaranteed you'll have to stick a Blackpool replay in that list, would be a struggle.
-
Fair few people mentioned to me yesterday that we'd already sold the first allocation and we're up to something like 1.5k, quite impressive if true.
-
How do you define "greedy"?
-
Have you bothered to look at what is actually being proposed? I guess by your rant, you clearly haven't.
-
Well they shouldn't be allowed to be seen to "work". It creates a very dangerous precedent and is completely undemocratic.
-
That's what worried me. I certainly don't think its right to get on Adkins back, he's done well so far and it would achieve absolutely nothing. However, it wasn't just a bad defeat, it wasn't just a bad performance, it looked like a group of players who weren't going anywhere this season, teams that ges promoted have a bit of momentum about them, they grind out results when playing badly, they look hungry. We didn't have any of those things, no spark there at all. I still think we'll probably go up, but with the resources we hae at our disposal, it really shouldn't be this hard!
-
Eh? No they're not. I take it the world has appointed you to decide what are valid causes for violent protests and which aren't?
-
The point being it isn't worth crying about. It's obviously hassle for the club, otherwise I guess they would do it. And you were able to get your own seat anyway ffs, so what have you been rambling on about
-
Yep good all. Although, I might be wrong, but can just do it Southampton - Banbury and then Banbury - Walsall.
-
No there aren't. What percentage of St Marys capacity would you say has a "bad view"?
-
"You completely miss the point and make yourself look a bit of a berk by assuming things about people who sit in specific areas of the ground." - Am I wrong? "The idea of what is and isn't a good view is subjective. Many ST holders obviously feel one view is better than another, hence why they choose to sit in a specific part of the ground. To dismiss their opinion on what is or isn't a good view is ignorant." - Are you telling me you haven't had the opportunity to buy a seat at St Marys for the Blackpool game that has a good view - yes or no? "As I said before, I've clearly showed that there are benefits for ST holders in being able to secure their own seat and I'm still waiting to hear how other people are disadvantaged by said facility. I can't see any reason why the club no longer do it. " - I agree that ST holders should be able to secure their own seats. I also agree that the Kingsland SHOULD be open. However, neither are really reason enough to have any sort of moan and certainly not a reason no to attend the game as many have claimed recently.

Safe Standing Bill in Parliament - template letter now attached
Sour Mash replied to bungle's topic in The Saints
Well we've been able to stand on terrracing at a fair few away games in the last couple of seasons without any problems at all. I take it you won't be going to Peterborough away due to your concerns? -

Sour Mash replied to bungle's topic in The Saints
Exactly. In many ways, the fans that would benefit most from safe standing are those that want to sit down, particularly at away games. Would help prevent the problem of those that want to sit being forced to stand by having people standing infront of them, would help old people, kids etc. -
But their point isn't about going to a part of the ground that has less atmosphere than where they normally sit, its moving to a bit of the ground that they seem to suggest has a significantly worse view. Are you honestly telling me that there aren't seats currently available for the Blackpool game that have a good view?

I believe you know a bit more about this than most: How do we lobby our MP? Something like a formal letter in support of the bill? What are the chances of this having success? Can't imagine that many MPs truly giving a stuff either way and making the effort to vote or is that not how it works? -
Well I'm a season ticket holder, so hopefully it is "my place" to criticise. If you want a decent seat, then buy one now. There are plenty available. How can 20k other Saints fans manage to enjoy watching Saints without having "the best view in the ground". There are no bad views at St Marys. Is it any coincidence that there moaners come from what is probably the least atmospheric, least "supporting" part of the ground? I bet if you go to the Blackpool game you'll spend the whole of the match grumbling about not having your usual seat in the Kingsland like a load of old codgers did behind me in the Itchen for the Cheltenham game!
-
Er, you get loads of "rewards" for buying a season ticket.
-
Er no, not really
-
Me too, Lowe was always good for a bit of banter!
-
Really hope England don't get it, but I've got a feeling they will. Decision must be any minute now.
-
F**ks sake! Fair play, I'll give you that one.

Hartlepool game likely to be postponed on Saturday
Sour Mash replied to patred44's topic in The Saints
Just seen this, f**k knows how reliable they are http://www.pooliebunker.co.uk/newbunker/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=35397 Weird thing for Saints Twitter to state yesterday, you'd have thought they wouldn't say anything until they could be more sure of what's likely to happen. -

No refund available on the tickets we booked, unless the trains are cancelled, which does currently look a possibility.
