  1. Humbled and humiliated to a degree worse than we had to endure But I want them to survive. The South Coast rivalry is a wonderful thing and who would we have to take the mick out of otherwise ? Reading/Bournemouth and Aldershot just don't cut it as adversaries somehow.
  2. And Merry Christmas to our beloved Mods and Admin too !
  3. Ken Dodd and the Diddymen's big day out ! Tatty Bye John, Tatty Bye !
  4. Agree a resounding No ! They can hop along to share with Brighton's new stadium!
  5. Lambert without any doubt at all! For all the reasons mentioned in the post above but also because he can take a feckin good free kick from anywhere within 30 yards of goal.
  6. Oh Yes they laughed, but boy are they bricking it now! I too am gaining a degree of satisfaction in watching the stones they threw in the glasshouse raining down on their heads now. All Saints fans are. But come on - Life would be so, so boring if they went out of business permanently! I love the rivalry and all that a derby day brings!
  7. So all the newspaper reports are accurate as far as you guys can see then ? I know you have made your own beds in much of this, but I do think that the culture the PL has cultivated over the past few years has contributed towards this ****e situation. While it is schedenfreude to see you guys suffer at this time I would hate to see you go to the wall ! We need a South Coast Derby!
  8. F'Sure !
  9. Indeed it is a particularly strange acronym But I do wonder how much the PL have heightened Pompey's problems by just ticking a box on Sheikh Ya NoMarney and Bin Trump, without at least giving a cursory glance as to their financial status. As it stands I could even go to the PL as Pompeys "new saviour" ( not in a million years but just hypothetically you understand ), and I hav'nt a pot to **** in either! Regarding tax evasion, fortunately I used the word allegedly in my post too
  10. Great praise for a great player from another great player - Although I dispute the small club label! Xavi/Iniesta/Senna are an awesome midfield for Spain - And not good news for our world cup hopes either !
  11. I think there are 3 others who periodically appear on TV. Maybe because of this, the poor media saps think they are communicating to an organisation with a membership greater than the old politburo
  12. It beggars belief that they are still being permitted to limp on like this without some form of points penalty imposed by the PL ! I mean if the PL want to maintain their promulgation of this "clean cut wholesome image" they are so proud of then this is nothing short of a major embarrassment to them - And perhaps reflective of the structure the PL have perhaps unintentionally cultivated. Do the PL really turn a blind eye to a club wallowing in sickening amounts of debt, embroiled with allegations of tax evasion from current and past board members, and hiring sleazy brigands with criminal records to their current set up??? And thats before their fit and proper persons test has ratified two potless chumps as suitable people to own the club! The whole situation reflects absolutely terribly on the offices of the PL, and if Pompey go to the wall it will be interesting to see how much muck sticks to the PL themselves.
  13. What a wonderful occasion that would be ! The "Big Fella" would have a welcome and ovation that would befit any returning hero - I reckon that would set him up emotionally for years to come. If you are reading Ron a very Merry Christmas!
  14. Too many shares to buy from the disparate three, and getting them all to agree as to what biscuits should go on the boardroom plate was nigh impossible, let alone agree a sale of shares in which they all had their own interests! As things have worked out, the situation could not be better now. We are well run by a professional team and all sign of the destructive in-fighting and inertia of the past few years has been swept away. I wish Leon well as he did his bit but have to say that I am glad that he and certainly the other two + Hone and Co are no longer part of the decision making of our club. Lawrie will always be a hero !
  15. I totally agree.
  16. Anticipating a win, but think we will give away our customary goal ! 2-1 Saints.
  17. Maybe but also maybe not! Wilson had a full pre-season with his squad and did not have to start the season with a -10 points handicap. He also did not have to re-build virtually an entire team and repair shattered confidence to boot. While AP is not a legend by any means (yet), he has in 4 short months taken us by good management and good results, from the depths of despair to renewed hope and optimism.
  18. And the we should eminate the Iraqui population by pulling it down and hitting it with shoes!
  19. Agree. You might add that due to all the summer shenanigans we had absolutely no "pre-season" at all - Unlike the other managers listed. Coming from where we were, for Pards to guide us within striking distance of the play-offs and a Wembley appearance in the space of 3 to 4 months is highly commendable in any quarter.
  20. My hovercraft is full of eels
  21. Absolutely! Contrast Pards to the dreary, mediocre bumbling mumblings of the likes of Georgie Boy! There is nothing more uplifting than hearing a manager speak with such positivity and common sense, and engendering a positive winning mentality is absolutely essential for any team aspiring to climb the leagues. For the first time in many, many years I am convinced we have the right men in charge of this club. What a turnaround in only a matter of months.
  22. Would add two fantastic centre-backs: Svensson and Richards. Otherwise you probably have them !
  23. Agree And we should look at some Championship Clubs for these players too if we can! McCarthy and Carle from Palace? Maybe even Henderson or Severin from Watford?
  24. We most certainly do ! Good post.
