LOL, just found a couple of Corp Ho classics saved on an old HD "Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona is offering to bring four international stars to newly owned Portsmouth, if the club appoints him as their global ambassador, his lawyer has claimed. And in a further development, an advisor to new Pompey owner Sulaiman Al Fahim confirmed this morning that “discussions” have been held with Maradona’s cousin Remigio Maradona over a role for the former World Cup winner at the club. Confidential emails sent by Maradona’s lawyer Angel Oscar Moyano claim the superstar is willing to act on behalf of Valencia striker David Villa and Barcelona hero Samuel Eto’o. The email also mentions his son-in-law Kun Aguero, who plays for Atletico Madrid and another Valencia striker, David Silva, as possible targets. Diego Armando Maradona has players “personal“ commitment [sic] to enter into exclusive talks with Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, writes Moyano." Eto'o, Villa, Silva. Crap players or what? We'll be down this season for sure and in administration within a year. Yeah, looks like you guys were right all along. We've fuucking had it big style.......... Realistically? Extremely unlikely. However, who would have thought Pompey would have signed 5 current England internationals in the last three years? Admit it, you all laughed your ****s off when the 'Sol Campbell to sign for Pompey' stories started surfacing a few years back. You laughed with a bit less certainty when the 'David James to sign for Pompey' story broke. By the time we'd signed Johnson, Muntari, Diarra, and Defoe you'd stopped laughing a long time earlier. The point is if you pay someone enough money they'll come to you. So what if it doesn't last forever? We've had more fun in the last 7 years than you've had in the last 30.* The bottom line is that despite the title of this thread, the takeover has NOT collapsed, Al Fahim has NOT failed the FPPT, we are NOT going down and we are NOT going into administration.* You might as well lock this one down, because remember: "It's the hope that kills you".

The police didn't do anything because the bloke wasn't breaking the law.

Nutshell

This. It just totally killed our season. From that point the team lost all belief.

We don't even know who they are, let alone how to defeat them. Bomb the living daylights out of their 'caliphate' and they'll just pop up somewhere else. The concept of the Middle East's most notorious psychopaths/sociopaths brainwashing vulnerable/disillusioned youth on social media worldwide is like bacteria spreading. IS aren't in Syria/Iraq. Their in Syria, Iraq, North Africa, West Africa, Australia, the USA, Europe, the list goes on. The harder we bomb, the harder their propaganda machines work. Their brainwashed individuals who flee to the caliphate after months of grooming by highly manipulative sociopaths/psychopaths.

Match fixing and betting - anyone had any experiences?

Every other game in the African cup of nations. A few examples off the top of my head. In 2010 Angola & Mali drew 4-4 despite Angola being 4-1 up after 87 minutes. The Equatorial Guinea-Tunisia QF this year featured refereeing decisions that were nothing short of complete farce, I think the ref was banned from officiating long-term just on that one performance. I also remember a match involving Senegal a few years ago where the other team were given a goal despite their striker being about 5 yards offside. The entire Senegalese coaching staff/subs bench ran on the pitch and surrounded the ref shortly afterwards. -
It's the people actually trying to have a debate with him that's the most entertaining thing about this thread

There's so many that they can't process a lot of them. Half the time when the police arrest them trying to jump into lorries in Calais, they drive them 200 yards down the road and let them go.

Has anyone worked out who SarniaSaint is yet?

I'm surprised it's still going considering how many fatal crashes they have. Like you say, maximum respect to all the riders. Bob Price's fatal crash last year is on youtube when he crashed headlong into a pub wall at Ballaugh Bridge. Not pretty. Trying to make a 38 mile course remotely safe is always going to be difficult and cost an astronomical sum of money, but the measures in place do seem half-arsed regardless. It is an incredible event though and a relic that will remain, even with the serious accidents. F1 is just about there safety wise (post-Bianchi) but what's killed the sport are making the cars too easy to drive and the relenting crusade to turn every track into the Hungaroring. If they raced on circuits that flowed and were actually challenging it would make a big difference.

Their national team are just kicking off against Scotland in a friendly -
Once saw a lad try and glass Eric Bristow in a pub. Eric didn't bat an eyelid, calmly stepped aside and threw him into the bar. Questioned him afterwards and he was completely relaxed. I once got a lift on the back of Dave Benson-Phillips' motorbike. Nicest bloke you could ever meet. Shaun Wallace off The Chase is also a top bloke. I didn't 'meet' Snoop Dogg as such but he was so stoned he literally didn't know where he was or what decade he was in. Steve Parrish (Ex bike racer and MotoGP commentator) is very friendly as well as being a complete nutcase.

The family think it was a heart attack. Big loss to British politics, lovely man with a great sense of humour. Sadly it sounds like years of cigarettes and alcohol caught up with him.

Indeed, LD is spot on. Well said CB

The last time I saw a British PM answer a question was well over 20 years ago.

Well if that doesn't give the squad a rocket up the arse then the squad need a long hard look at themselves.
