Is he still a bit dim, Theo? Or has his intellect grown over the years. I always recall his interviews as being very similar to what Luke Shaw's are now.
-
Yep, he will get fed up eventually. How frustrating to not be able to secure the players you want - we're not talking obscene amounts of money here, either, in current terms.
-
Don't worry, that's definitely not a racial stereotype. On Diallo - he looks a good prospect. Give him time I'm sure he'll be a good fit.
-
Perhaps they'll play Vydra and Rodriguez, both easily outpacing our defenders.
-
Exactly this. There has been little change in terms of overall quality, and our bench is bereft of any meaningful ways to positively change a game. What a tired and weak performance. Our defence is limited, is centrally poor at reading the game and has very little pace, so why highlight that by playing a high line? I very much doubt there will be enough investment to improve our midfield spine and the way in which we attack opponents, so Hassenhuttl will have to somehow pull something off to get our players to perform at a higher level as a team.... What a shambles.

That bench ... 😖
-
Brentford had players isolating due to COVID19 and had sold their best attackers, yet still managed to brush us aside. I see no reason why an early wake up would stop Kane and Son tearing our weak defence apart. 0-3 to Spuds.
-
Its the lack of guile and creativity that worries me most. All a side has to do these days against our boys is put 10 men behind the ball - we have no answers, no plan B.
-
Outplayed and absolutely outclassed. Embarrassing performance.
-
This is an horrific endictment of our limited squad.

Hmmm, I hope all is well with Guilherme. Seems like a lovely chap, I hope this isn't as foreboding as it seems...
-
Good luck to the man. Dedicated, level headed and extremely professional. As a player he always put in a shift (thinking of his empassioned slide tackle in the dying minutes at Fratton Park), and deserves a chance to test himself at Spurs. Not amazingly dynamic or forward-thinking, mainly opting for a short sideways or backwards pass, but good at breaking up play at high tempo. Best of luck to him. If Romeu can keep the decent standard post-lockdown I hope we won't really notice Hojbjerg's absence.

I get quite excited by the prospect of Saints dipping into the talented pool of Championship players, perhaps even more so than talented players from leagues abroad.
-
So really, if it comes down to us or Leicester, its an obvious choice for McKennie.
-
I've heard he was found googling Stoneham golf course during a recent match whilst on the subs bench, which is partly why Zidane left him unused. Make of that what you will... 😉

Post-match reaction: Saints 2-0 Aston Villa
sfc4prem replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Surely playing more of a retreated back-line would help, too, in that we would be less likely to be caught out by an 'over-the-top' clearance-come-pass? -
Now it's down to the lads to stick the ball in the net!

Here's another from their forums:

Forgot to add this was taken from a Liverpool forum, if it wasn't obvious enough!

#40 MrRinsin: IMO there is a bit of a professional friction between Ralph and Jürgen. The media loved comparing the two and IMO Hassenhütl resented that. I thought Southampton players were very disrespectful to the Boss in last year’s away fixture. Let’s not forget, Nathan Redmond and Hojbjerg arrogantly barking and gesticulating at JK late in the match which I thought very odd. I will forever love Ingsy because he is all class, but I will not lie, I want our boys to properly smash this lot. Put them back in their place. I would love it if we beat them

KWP will be cup tied, surely? So who are we playing RB against Spurs?

Saints v Spurs (FA Cup) Match & Reactions Thread
sfc4prem replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Surely having pockets of vocal support across the whole of the ground is far more efficacious in producing noise than one 'home end'. People that may not normally be vocal might feel more inclined to join in if there are people near them consistently starting and joining in with chants -
It's a crying shame, isn't it? Ralph has energised this club so much, and the backing he is getting is questionable. Perhaps we're waiting to get rid of some deadwood before investing properly? I doubt it, but I need some hope to cling to!
