We've just got to hope that we can do enough now in the games we've got left. Effectively Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City are free hits, so that leaves us needing three wins from West Ham, Bournemouth, Swansea, Leicester and Everton.
First (permanent) Saints manager to have played at St Mary's before (Dennis Wise and Jason Dodd did but they were only caretakers). Mark Hughes played for Blackburn in 2001.
They've announced the new badge... although they've got the date wrong, the current club was only founded 6 years ago? Someone needs to mock one up and correct it

#Pompey boss Kenny Jackett told me today he hasn't had extensive chats about the budget for next season yet, but he ISN'T expecting an increase
That news won't go down with the blue phew...
It'll be interesting to see how Paul Cook approaches the game. I can't see them parking the bus for 90 minutes like they did against Man City, and we're probably the weakest opponent they've faced thus far, apart from Bournemouth who named a weakened team.

Mark Hughes appointment as Southampton manager is agreed. Premier League survival bonus is just under £1m and contract until the end of the season.
Lol Crook was wrong again.
Went back through Mark Hughes's managerial record and took his first 8 league games (or qualifying games for Wales) for each team in his career
Stoke 2013 - W2 D2 L4
QPR 2012 - W1 D2 L5
Fulham 2010 - W1 D6 L1
Man City 2008 - W3 D1 L4
Blackburn 2004 - W1 D4 L3
Wales 99/00/01 - W1 D4 L3
Not brilliant - The best start he got off to was at Man City. Or maybe we can do what he did at Fulham and draw nearly every game.
Hughes will do well for us initially, but things do tend to get stale after a while. I think the best we can hope for is him doing well for us and then another club taking him off our hands, Everton probably.
