Yeah I agree. We're not a million miles away from getting our first win, and Bournemouth next who more often that not tend to bottle it against us at their place.
-
I guess we're forgetting then that we completely changed formation in the play-offs and had less possession in every game we played against Leeds. To say Martin hasn't been pragmatic with us is just wrong.
-
I have a spare ticket in the Northam, Block 42, bought an extra ticket for a mate who now can no longer go. Have it on the ticket app so if anyone would like one please do let me know.

Both teams will see this as a realistic game to win. Hopefully will make for a good game. We should have beaten them up at their place last season so owe them one.
-
He's also under investigation for using foul and abusive language to the referee so they'll slap an extra game on I reckon.
-
Yup agreed. There was some display of us being a lot quicker yesterday but fizzled out sadly.
-
Wasn't Colin Calderwood brought in as a coach to make us more secure at the back?
-
If you look at how we played against Leeds for example last season, tactically we set up differently to usual, as the possession stats show (Leeds had more possession in every game). So what you've said about RM not changing at all is complete nonsense.
-
Our record against them at St Mary's is absolutely terrible. Only one win and that was in 2003!
-
He'll be great for us next season in our promotion push

If he scores against Man Utd I'm running onto the pitch

Everton have confirmed ticket prices (assume it will be the same for us, plus the £1.50 ticket tax) Adults (18-64): £25 65+: £20 Under-18: £5 https://www.evertonfc.com/news/2024/september/02/carabao-cup-ticket-news--everton-v-southampton/

Pretty good. Also helped that Brentford may have been one of the quiestest home stadiums I've been to for a while. Most of their fans in the area support other teams and have only started going now they're in the Prem.
-
Same thing happened at Newcastle. The one at Newcastle was far more thorough tbh.
-
Tbh the Man Utd game comes at a decent time for us. We'll assume Man Utd will have more possession so RM will have no choice but to come up with a change of tactics. If we get a result, maybe accidentally he'll have come up with a tactical template for future games.

One thing that was really noticeable was how slow we pass the ball. So pedestrian.
-
It'll be less than that as a certain amount is reserved for players' family/friends.
-
Not literally, just in a footballing sense. I wouldn't drop him at the moment personally.
-
Why all the hate for Stephens? THB was atrocious on Saturday, if we do drop one of the centre backs he'd be on the bench for me.
-
Interesting game, good to get the win. Some of the attacking play was sublime, yes Cardiff were shit but even so, it does look promising in that area. Now on to the areas for concern: Lumley - he showed why Martin was 100% correct to recall McCarthy when Bazunu got injured. Wood and Edwards were poor but not too concerned, it's very unlikely they'd both play together in the league. If they were playing alongside Bednarek/Stephens/THB they'd be fine, and we looked more composed when ABK came on so think they just need someone more experienced with them.
-
Well done to those going. Train tickets from London would've cost £80 return not to mention hotel so I've skipped this one. I imagine we'll rotate heavily.
-
That was shit, didn't test their goalkeeper once. Simply not good enough, from the players or from the manager. The one positive is I don't think we're a million miles off, both games have been narrow defeats. Think we need to be more effective on the counter attack, we can't just rely on passing it through teams.
-
It will all depend on if we win or not. If we get an early goal I suspect the atmopshere will be pretty decent.
-
Hopefully we can get that first win of the season under the belt and focus on re-establishing ourselves at this level. Forest you'd expect to be in the mix down the bottom so would be a big win. Apparently they played pretty well against Bournemouth but tailed off at the end, so I fancy us to resume our old habit of getting a late winner. 2-1.

I think it's a good signing, still only 22 so plenty of time for him to improve, and if he gets even 10-15 goals he goes from £15million to £30million plus very quickly in value.
