We can only get better. So if this is our dodgy period then so be it. 42 games to go. I'll be concerned if we're 13th in February, not at the end of August.
-
Goes without saying that anything other than a win is unacceptable. Get the new boys in right from the start.
-
We're ahead of Ipswich though. And both us and Ipswich will be miles clear of them lot in May.
-
Baz isn't the issue. The poor defending is. Everyone seems to have forgot the Wrexham and Ipswich saves already
-
That was rubbish. Why don't we create any decent chances from open play? We can score from corners and free kicks and that's it. Can't recall us having any sustained spell of pressure. Second half in particular was awful.

Ticket releases for August and Portsmouth games?

Fratton Park (PO4 8TB) – 8.30am Lakeside North Harbour (PO6 3EN) – 8.55am South Winchester Park & Ride (access via M3, junction 11): 9.55am Those are the departure times. I reckon they'll take a longer route which is why they're leaving earlier - i.e. through Bitterne rather than across the Itchen Bridge -
https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/2025/08/29/what-west-brom-boss-ryan-mason-said-about-tom-fellows-proposed-10m-move-to-southampton/ The Albion boss remained strong in his line that Fellows was still an Albion player as of Friday morning - and had reported to the Albion training ground. However, he acknowledged how things can change quickly. He said: "I can only speak about players in the building that are mine, he is currently one of my along with the other boys. "I think what we are speaking about at the moment are potentials. Tom is still our player, he is in the building now. "In football and in life things can happen and can change, currently my mind isn't thinking about that. "He's in the building, everyone in the building is available. We have some injuries as well that make players unavailable, but all other players are ready for selection. "I think the Tom situation along with others is that nothing has been confirmed."

Tom Fellows was training at West Brom today so not sure the deal is as advanced as was made out. We'll see if he's in the squad for their game this weekend.

Yeah we definitely got them back and more for that one.
-
Hopefully we report him to the FA and he'll start life off with a suspension
-
A quick look on their Twitter and it would appear away ticket sales have been quite slow. I'm sure they'll have no issues in selling out but perhaps not a surprise given the cost.
-
It's probably £10M guaranteed (8 upfront, 2 in addons) and the extra 5 million the West Brom guy was saying is probably if we get promotion.
-
Hope we can get all of this done in time for them to be in the squad on Saturday.
-
Mendes has probably gone round everyone already and only West Ham were interested.
-
He didn't say it would be for us...
-
Since when were racists labelled as 'purists'?
-
West Ham spent loads on Summerville who by all accounts has been shit for them. So yeah I'd understand why they'd be annoyed.
-
We're going to have a fair few players making their first start against Portsmouth I suspect...
-
Leeds sold Summerville and Rutter for similar fees to Dibling/Fernandes and ended up steamrolling the division. And they 5 points from their first 3 games, just 1 more than us. Not saying that we'll get 100 points but we know from last time that a slow start isn't necessarily all doom and gloom. The first time they went top was in November and it was around that time two years ago where we really started to get going. I'd like us to get a couple of loan players in from Prem teams. No obligation to buy, just proven quality who will get guaranteed game time.
-
I assumed it would be on a par with the Lavia deal. £40m is too cheap IMO. Maybe we're desperate on the finances front.
-
I reckon the club will hold back on any big money signings with the aim of spending big if we get promoted. And we can always spend in January to strengthen if things have gone a bit tits up on that front. We still need two wingers at least, assuming Edozie goes. Guilavogui is fine as long as there is another.
-
Anyway this Jander bloke sounds very promising. If he's half as good as Matty then so be it that'll be enough.
-
We should get Fernandes, KWP and JWP for £50m all in next season to strengthen our Prem team when they get relegated
-
Zero excuses now to get the required players in we need to strengthen sufficiently.
