Ridiculous statement. There was nothing wrong with the tactics - we were playing fine until we conceded. Then the players went into meltdown mode.
-
Yup, this time last year we lost 1-0 at Norwich, in what was arguably a worse performance than this one. And I was in the Koeman Out camp. We need new players.
-
We need new signings. Puel has shown in France what he can do with managerial talents and now we must back him.
-
WE ARE NOT GOING TO SACK PUEL ANY TIME SOON Go and support someone like Swansea if you want the manager out every time
-
The scoreline flatters Everton, let's be honest.
-
What worries me is why we have just collapsed suddenly. The players have let Puel down massively.
-
Hopefully something that can be stitched up and he'll be fine for Saturday
-
I agree with the sentiments about Stephens too. Surprised he wasn't given a chance earlier, because Martina is obviously not good enough. One of Koeman's worst signings, and if Everton really want him they can have him.
-
Everton had a lot of the ball but did nothing with it We look very good on the counter attack. I wish we would be a bit more direct at times and get the ball forward quicker, because our best opportunities have come when we have done exactly that. Get Boufal on for the final 30 minutes and cause a bit of havoc. Also, I can't believe how quiet Goodison Park is. Easily one of the worst atmopsheres in the Premier League.
-
Perhaps Romeu has better fitness levels than the rest of the squad? Given that the sports science department regularly test these sort of things, Puel will have an excellent idea of the capabilities of the players.
-
Clasie back is a massive bonus. The midfield has struggled without him. Players need to up their game, hopefully we will see a positive response today.
-
To be fair against Tottenham, we hardly set out to then sat back. There was a period of 10 minutes where we dominated and probably should've scored a second. We didn't, then they stepped up their game massively, as they also demonstrated against Watford, they are a very very very good team.
-
What is rose-tinted about being in 9th and in a cup semi-final? You didn't reply to that part. That's because there isn't a valid response.
-
Here's how I think we'll line up Forster Cedric - Yoshida - Fonte - Bertrand Romeu - JWP - Hoj Redmond - JRod - Tadic
-
Presumably our fans want us to be more like West Ham? Or Swansea perhaps?
-
He was in the crowd at St Mary's on Saturday... perhaps he's being lined up for a shock return? I said it before (tongue in cheek) but him as our attacking coach and Puel as defensive coach perhaps wouldn't be a bad combination...
-
Why would we want to replace our current manager with a manager who just lost against us 3-1?
-
As I said before, they are not true supporters. And we all know who they are, as they are quite vocal.
-
You're right, if we slip down the table then I won't be happy. But I'm not going to meltdown just because of two poor games.
-
If you had said at the start of the season that at the beginning of 2017 we would be in 9th place and in a cup semi-final, I'd have been happy with that, and I think most fans would have been too. Nothing rose tinted about that at all, those are the facts. Too many are losing all sense of perspective and want us to be like Swansea who sack our manager after every 10 games.
-
Unfortunately there are too many people like him on here who desperately want Puel to fail. They are not true supporters of Southampton.
-
The fact that two teams (three if you include West Ham) had European football whereas Liverpool and Chelsea do not, has helped their league positions and has possibly had an impact on ours. Anyway, it could be worse, we could be Watford
-
Some of you are really clueless. We will not be sacking Puel anytime soon. Our key players didn't perform on Wednesday and were dreadful in the second half. Tactically, we were set up fine. We were well on top in the first half, and they got lucky. Second half was dreadful, and I blame the players, not the manager.
-
That's b*llocks and you know it is. We're not a sacking club, and we won't be sacking him anytime soon, especially since we are in the top half of the table and in a cup semi-final, so get used to it.
