  1. Comment from 'Laurab12' - a poster on not606 who joined shortly after Boruc signed and has always been clued up on his injuries/thoughts etc. etc. "It's a shame as goal keeper position is going to be no different from last season when boruc leaves. Have heard a rumour that club will slap a unreasonable price on him that no one will pay as he can sign a pre contract agreement with another club come January to keep hold of him. If that is right that be highly unfair. They've chosen to replace him. So let him get on with his career"
  2. I can understand Koeman's thinking. Krueger has said Ronald is here to build something. You don't tend to build something with 35 year old goalkeepers with 12 months on their deal. Who knows, maybe Artur doesn't want to sign a new deal? Forster is a solid replacement, anyway. I felt that Boruc should've continued, but it's Koeman's decision and I support that.
  3. Oh, ignore me then - just went off what a Saints fan posted on Twitter.
  4. Gardos apparently not in Steaua's side to face Cluj tonight.
  5. I just asked my Polish mate to check Artur's TL and tell me what he's saying. KaroLegiaFan said to him, as someone who has played for Celtic and Legia - he could try to be the authority on this and help between the two. Artur replied saying, do you think my opinion/authority matters more to them (Celtic) than the £10m (reference to the prize money) Basically.
  6. @SouthamptonFC: Get to your seats early because we’ll be introducing today’s squad to the crowd before @RonaldKoeman will addresses the fans! #saintsfc
  7. BBC Leeds confirm that Leeds United have rejected a bid from Southampton for Sam Byram.
  8. And then people would be moaning about a lack of leadership and how the club were allowing themselves to be bullied blah blah blah
  9. http://www.sportnews.ro/ultima-ora-bomba-florin-gardos-fost-vandut-steaua-batut-palma-cu-un-club-din-anglia-cat-va-incasa-campioana-romaniei-55795.html Koeman to confirm?
  10. Just been chatting to a Sporting fan on Twitter... His tweets: Looks like @SouthamptonFC is inching closer to getting @marcosrojoscp from @Sporting_CP #SportingCP #saintsfc http://m.ojogo.pt/m/article?contentID=4067754 … he's a CB with SCP and a LB for the AFA. We've gotten a few new CB's so he might be on his way soon. Asked if Rojo would fancy a move to Saints: good point. SCP is in the CL this season but the saints play in the EPL and can pay him a much higher salary
  11. Yep, to go with that Kenyan clown we took off of them last season..........
  12. Would you rather we sign a **** player in a position we really need a good player in, or sign a decent-good player in a position we have a bit of strength in? Personally, I'd prefer a decent midfield loanee and money to be spent on the defence and attack, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
  13. I'll start with FourFourTwo magazine, and we could probably collate them all in here?
  14. Ralph Krueger, speaking to BBC 5live on Tuesday the 5th of August: - At the time, with the information available to us, we believed it was best to keep the status quo - Mauricio then decided to move on and take a shortcut into Europe - With sports, you have to expect the unexpected - When we speak about players out, we must judge that based on players in - We now have a manager in Ronald Koeman who is in line with our strategy and philosophy - We also now have a manager who is in this for the long-term, to build something - The positive to take is that it gives Koeman a chance to build his own Saints side - I feel for the fans and I do apologise - But, we couldn't talk about all the details at the time (surrounding Pochettino etc.) - There's still a few weeks left in the transfer window - Hopefully the fans can be patient and see what we're going to do - My role here at Saints is to find the best possible people for executive management positions - The mechanics of major league sports is very familiar - However, the transfer market here is very 'interesting' and dynamic - We need to be successful and sustainable (BBC play clip of Cortese talking about 'how to win the Premier League' to Krueger) - I never met my predecessor, but I do believe what is important is the extremely strong infrastructure - The club has had this infrastructure for decades now - We will have new players to put into our line-up - Look at the opportunity given to Luke Shaw also, he wouldn't have got that at many other Premier League clubs - We're looking to use our funds to create a deeper and stronger roster - I believe we will also see a few more names grow out of our academy and into our first team this season - We never said one of our players were for sale - We never aggressively attempted to sell anyone - Ronald understood what was going to happen - He has been a part of the process, every single part of it - He accepted that it would be a turbulent first summer - The fact of the matter is that we then looked at our first team and decided that Morgan was a centre-piece - We've made it very clear, he's not for sale - What matters now at Saints is how we are looking against Liverpool - Morgan will be there for Liverpool - (when asked specifically if Morgan will be in our matchday squad against Liverpool) - Jay is also a definite centre-piece - But he still has months of rehab and we look forward to rehabilitating him - What has happened, has happened [with Morgan] - I don't need to discuss that - We are going to retain Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin - We look forward to building our new-look side around those two - We want to be a difficult team to play against - Our aspirations are to grow the club into Europe - This is a step-by-step process - The process must occur at all levels - We did not feel this was in place when we arrived - We had to make some payments - We now have a strong sum that gives us an opportunity to reinvest in the club - We are not going to rush - We've been given a green light by the owner - She has enabled us to reinvest the funds in a combination of transfers - I was not hired to coach the team - I am here to create a management culture - We want to be as well run as a club can be in the Premier League - I want to say to the fans, we don't expect trust overnight - What I would like to ask them for, is time - We will earn their trust through our actions, not just words - The club is not for sale - I wouldn't have turned down some very nice jobs as a Head Coach in the NHL - Katharina has given her full backing for the club to reinvest - She has also told me that the club is not for sale - We want to continue to build on the strong foundations that have been here for decades - We want to build into the future of this football club
  15. Richard Askam of the BBC: "Unconfirmed but hear agreement reached for transfer of Celtic's Fraser Forster to Southampton...if Celtic go out of the Champions League"

  17. I take it Kießling is based on a post on that football rumours site, where his name was mentioned earlier.

  19. ...stand down.
  20. Romain Molina is close to Schneiderlin, isn't he? Interviewed him numerous times and I've heard someone say they're quite pally before. He raises some points but as with any writer, you've got to consider their motives.
  21. Boruc, because I know he can do it in the Premier League and I think he's bat**** mental and I quite like those characters when they do well for the team. I'd be upset to see Artur go - a real cult hero.
  22. Ah no, not Boruc. I love that mad Pole - he's one of my favourites in recent years.
