The Dutch journalist on talkSPORT was Marcel van der Kraan. Following on from that, van der Kraan thinks Koeman is the man to sort Saints out. He says that he spoke to Koeman after he joined Saints (they have a close relationship as VDK is a Feyenoord fan and reporter), and that Ronald told him he was perfectly aware of numerous potential departures. He said that Les explained who would go, and who might then become unsettled, but Ronald still wanted Southampton. He was told by his own people that if he waited, West Ham and Newcastle would likely become available and reignite an interest in securing his services, but he wanted to go to Southampton because he liked the challenge that was presented, of rebuilding the side as the club goes through a restructuring process. He really wanted to lead this club - especially due to the notoriety of our academy both in the United Kingdom and in Europe. He said the next few weeks will see how Koeman's season will go, but Ronald and Erwin have nothing but respect for the club and they are 100% determined to make things work out at Saints, regardless of how difficult the situation may have become. He says it won't put Ronald out of his stride. He says they have a good network and are working on a number of deals. He is certain Tadić will step up and impress us, and thinks Pellè can too. He also said that he knows Ronald well enough to know that any tweeted photos of the training ground would not be humorous, because he has too much respect for his club and his employers to every bring a joke upon them. Said he can be sarcastic and amusing now and then, but he wouldn't do something like that on social media for laughs.

Rupert Lowe speaking to talkSPORT: - I don't think we should panic just yet - Let me tell you from experience, when a big club comes in for a player it's incredibly difficult - Agents are telling them to move, so they can pocket some cash - Players view it as a career promotion - I think Morgan is a tremendous player and was surprised we managed to sign him from Strasbourg - I thought he'd end up at a club like Arsenal - At the moment I believe he is the best central midfielder playing in England - I hope he sees sense and stays at Southampton - I regret that I am not still there, enjoying the fruits of the long-term planning based around our academy - I was on the FA board - The FA is an 'interesting animal' - The FA is entrepreneurial - The FA doesn't have long-term planning on its agenda - English lads are just as good as the rest, it's all there - The national game needs to support better technical coaching at grassroots level - At the moment, it doesn't - At the end of the day, it's difficult to keep hold of players who don't want to be at your club - You have to see what Liebherr's board deliver this season before judging their intentions - I don't think it is ever a question of 'allowing them to leave' - The issue with reinvesting is not paying out in transfer fees, but the effect on the wage bill - See Spurs for an example - End of the day, the club does not have the power that it should and nor does any other club - The pendulum has swung too far in favour of the players since the day of Bosman et al - We need to get some balance back into the game - Agents and players do what they like - It needs to be addressed, and this is exactly why

**** 'em. He's trying to make Ralph look a **** and I stand 100% behind Mr. Krueger. We've got the money Ralph, show them who's boss... ...please.

Chambers said Arsenal were "too good to turn down" - and that's the crux of it. Liverpool were "too good to turn down". United were also "too good to turn down". Spurs will be "too good to turn down". I'll really crap my pants if players want to leave to similar or lesser clubs, but my take is that the club have not forced these players to go - okay maybe they could've said no, but if a player doesn't want to be here... sell for big money where possible. I'll judge based on the replacements.

Think people are being a bit OTT. He just liked a photo he'd been tagged in, making light of it. Artur posted this... ...and I'm certainly not gonna have a pop at the big man!

Erwin Koeman was at Griffin Park this afternoon to watch Brentford vs Nice. Watching Timothée Kolodziejczak?

Tried to input the post into here, but for some reason it didn't work. Exceeded character limit I think (didn't realise I'd said that much?!) It's a bit of a long read, but I hope if you give it a chance you'll see where I'm coming from. I also tried to break it up so it wasn't painful on the eyes to follow. http://connorarmstrong.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/southampton-football-club-where-are-we.html Feel free to let me know if you think I'm talking ****, or if you agree with any points raised. Decided to put it all into one piece rather than venting different points in different areas.

First Premier League manager to go?

Sunderland fans going mental online although some are suggesting quotes are manufactured... The Echo up there say they have an extensive message from Poyet tomorrow, and some writers who are Sunderland fans would appear to have tweeted them too. -
Sounds like it could be Poyet? Although I'd go with Alan Irvine. Some quotes from Poyet tonight... "I sat down with Lee [Congerton - Head of Recruitment] and we had quite a unsuccessful and frustrating chat. I feel that I'm not getting the players that are essential for me to do my job. I said there's something wrong within this club and it's still there, I'm not sure what else I can do to change it." "I heard that Paolo Di Canio had a similar experience with the last person that was employed to make the transfers and that didn't work out for Sunderland." "It seems like it's happening all over again. I was promised a few things before I signed my new contract and they are not being delivered. That is frustrating for me and my staff and I now seriously need to take a step back and evaluate my role at the club."

Do people really think "re-invested" in the footballing side of the club or even the first team means purely transfer fees? You know we have to pay these guys, right?

Look forward to seeing his inevitable loan spell at Barnet followed by his release.
