Colchester 0 - 2 Saints - Post Match Reaction

Just Brighton and Bournemouth, I think. Brighton are over the finish line, imo. Our Bournemouth game is HUGE. -

Yep. Apologies to dune that I have a life outside this site. -
Colchester 0 - 2 Saints - Post Match Reaction
alpine_saint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Apologies for disappearing, but DIY beckoned... Great result very pleased. Team lifted themselves for a bogey/banana-skin fixture very well. Very optmisitic now, but still we need to do something about these mid-week away fixtures. We need to make the most of the games-in-hand. I think we can do it, but it will be tight, and there may be yet more ups and downs ahead. Also frustrated to see that Bournemouth won again (our match down there looks bigger with every round of games), and worried about Peterborough, and wondering why we cannot fight like Huddersfield and Brighton (what a match that sounded) -
That's just plain daft.

If the pathetic steam engine being described misleadingly and euphemistically as a "server" allows me to. Well done AOC...!
-
Is this determination to find a positive in amongst a pile of steaming over-ripe turds the result of professional counselling ?
-
Bournemouth winning, Peterborough winning, we are contributing to our usual huff-and-puff-with-no-result away at Colchester. We really dont want 2nd place, it seems.

Been expressing the same sentiment for a few years now mate, and been roundly dimissed and ridiculed for my trouble.

Question for the Positive-Thinkers after the Walsall result
alpine_saint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Once again: I have never gone on to a thread and written "I can be bothered reading this", whatever you may perceive about the rest of my posting strategy. Your post (though you are not the only one guilty of that type of post) has "looooook at meeeeee !!!" written all over it. You might not like my opinion, you might not like the forthrighteousness or frequency of my posting, you probably consider me to be a complete and utter whack-job, but I post how I feel about my club, not to seek attention. -
Game, Set & Match to Mr. Fry...

I see the funeral took place today, and that James Beattie went along. Looks pretty cut up in the pictures as well.

Question for the Positive-Thinkers after the Walsall result
alpine_saint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Since when have I gone on a thread and posted "I didnt bother reading this", the ultimate stupid attention-seeking comment ? I pity you if you regard my posts as attention-seeking just because you dont like the message. -

Why bother with the attention-seeking post on this thread then ? -
Christ, you are tiresome.

Adkins: "There is scope to dip into the loan market"
alpine_saint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Or we can blame the Daily Mail and Arsenal or Liverpool as NC alluded to a few weeks ago, because their sniffing round AOC and the reporting of it drove the price of our targets up. -

OK, thanks for pointing that out. Still means the same thing though, that we havent reaped much tangible benefit from the window so far. -
Adkins: "There is scope to dip into the loan market"

Dont get you. If he was blowing NA away in training he would be getting more game time. -
NC made one mistake, and one only. He should have fired Pardew during the summer. Pardew's demeanor at Wembley meant his association at the club was already on borrowed time. Why NC didnt fire him, heaven knows. NC will know this was a mistake, so come May if we havent won promotion, I will expect him to act swiftly over Adkins.

I reckon quite a few will have a sneak peek during the week. The site admin could of course confirm this in a matter of milliseconds, but I am sure they will behave more discreetly than that...

Adkins: "There is scope to dip into the loan market"

OK, fine Nige. Lets have less talking and more identifying then... The transfer market was Ok in terms of getting players here already to sign contracts (though Guly seems to be doing a Saganowski...), but Forte and N'Guessan havent exactly impressed... -
Agree completely, but for the sake of it, I reckon we would be same or worse. If the scenario is simply that NC fired him, that is. Pardew had lost interest long before. Just go back and look at his demeanour when he went up to the "Royal Box" at Wembley, FFS.

What's your agenda this time, SOGGY ?
-
FFS. Baj and Stevegrant have my thanks anyway. Some of you carry on like you've taken a mortgage out for your susbcription.

"We dont need them. The squad is strong enough. We will get no more injuries than our promotion rivals" Nick G and Daren W.

Question for the Positive-Thinkers after the Walsall result
alpine_saint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
OK, if there is nothing to be done, lets give up. Look if we dont go up this season, and seeing as most likely we will lose Lallana, Rickie, Morgan, Fonte, etc, etc, maybe....just maybe next season we should try to walk before running - build a team to get out of League One, before we start worrying how much of it is skillful enough to be re-used for NPC and Premier League campaigns. I am of the opinion the egos are too big and fragile, and the sort of physicality/stamina/skill combination is not right for this division.
