  1. Absolutely. Cutting our Navy whilst subsidising Russsia and China is an act of complete peversity.
  2. For all you Harriet Harperson lovers out there, it was Labour who f**ked up the country budget and committed so much defence spending to a pointless war in Vietnam...er...Afghanistan, therefore requiring the need to completely destroy the operational capability of our Navy in the name of "budget cuts" For an island, an act of complete and utter insanity /suicide. Bet Argentina is licking its collective lips.
  3. Prince of Wales is to be re-designe with catapaults and arrestor wires to take the F35A instead of F35B, and to allow operation of French and US aircraft in the meantime. I reckon Queen Elizabeth will either be operated/sold to the French or the same thing will happen here too, despite what is said today. We could get F-18 Super Hornets from the US in the meantime, whether new or reconditioned. There are options for sticking aircraft on the carriers from 2016. The real shocker for me is the 6-year capability gap the decision to scrap Ark Royal and the Harriers will bring. An open invitation to Argentina in the Falklands if every I've seen one. I hope the Labour party are proud....
  4. Disappointed on the implication of the teams standing in this division, and a definite message to all to keep feet on ground, but not much else can be drawn for this. Team should put it behind them and move on to focus on next game...
  5. Amazing how few people get this.
  6. And he will be out again within 18months. I reckon we got a better manager out of the deal.
  7. Maybe the carpets cost a bit more than expected... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1320426/Mukesh-Ambani-Indias-richest-man-builds-home-valued-630m.html
  8. And by Captain Kirk in Star Trek V...
  9. Bet he didnt include that on the model...
  10. His achievements at Boro shouldnt detract from the job he did for us. He got us into the top ten of the EPL, and one step away from an FA Cup. To me, he made only two bad calls : getting rid of Kevin Davies, and sh*tting himself after the Arsenal league game and playing the wrong team at Wembley.
  11. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1320476/Sculptor-spends-17-years-carving-replica-HMS-Victory--using-wood-real-thing.html He was a little distracted....
  12. 8 up, 25 to go. Just watched the first guy embracing his son when he got out of the cage for the first time; freely admit I welled up.
  13. The only criticism I have of Cortese is that he didnt have the courage of his convictions to fire him at the beginning of the summer and give us the pre-season to prepare under the new manager. And I blame our celeb ex-players and moaning minnie fans for that as much as him.
  14. Erm yes, quite possibly. We beat Norwich 2-0 away then drew 0-0 with Wycombe under Pardew. He had a lot of help. Like the financial muscle of a Premier league club.
  15. Really ? I keep hearing about how differently we perform now compared to under Pardew.
  16. Yet the only thing they point to when expressing their support for Pardew is the Rovers result.
  17. I am amused by the assumption that a flattering result against a dire Bristol Rovers side is evidence that the previous manager could have put together such a good run so soon as the new manager has. As I said a couple of weeks ago, if Pardew had been fired before the Bristol Rovers game, no-one would give a sh*t he has gone.
  18. But bringing Chaplow back appears so far to have added something that has been lacking from the team, specifically the midfield, for some time.
  19. Even taking into account the "caretaking" of Wilkins, does anybody really think we would have been better off if Pardew were still here, after 11 games ??
  20. Natwest -> Bar Centro -> Polar -> Whitehouse. And I may have missed some in-between.
  21. Low-key manager who seems to have what is really needed - getting his existing players performing and sticking to a plan, rather than splashing money about. I agree - the sort of manager we have been crying out for.
  22. What a load of pious b*ll*cks. It was probably a gobby Bournemouth fan asking for it. Hardly a Lee Hughes or Lee McCormack. He wont even get a custodial sentence for this. What is it about the name Lee ??
