Isnt it time to name-and-shame "the group behind the scenes" ?

Dave Jones the ex-manager or Dave Jones the ex-financial director ? -

How do you work that one out ? -
Jeez, if we got taken over by Russians or Arabs, I expect to see the likes of SOGGY pleading for the good 'ole days of NC....
-
Superb result.

I've read somewhere today that Lowe responded to a letter campaign from the womans husband, when still alive, with a letter telling him to buy one of the message bricks.

So reckon confidence and momentum dont play a role ? Well, I wholeheartedly disagree. Which is why after such a devastating comeback, I now think England will win the series well.
-
Oh, do leave it out Lord Snooty. The first day's play mirrored almost exactly the last Ashes series Down Under, and there was no reason to expect otherwise this time round from Day 2.
-
I was wrong, I admit it. The moral victory is with England. However, expect 3 or 4 world records to fall in the England second innings was beyond the realms of anyone's imagination...

Sorry, comparing him to Scholes is simply ridiculous.

Reckon the only thing stopping the US and S. Koreans at the moment going all out is China. The US knows they have lost omnipotence on this planet and that China is the boss now. I worry about the when the time comes when they really start exerting it.

I keep switching my opinion back and forth on him, he is that frustrating. At the moment, I agree with you, Chaplow brings more to the team. He is definitely another Anders Svensson or Matt Oakley. He has something, but the way we play doesnt particularly bring out the best in him or use him the right way, but at the same time they are not good enough to build the team around.

Yes, I think some parts were made in Hamble. Cant remember what though. I thought it was something to do with the ejector seats. Some of the avionics were done at Zambra/Negretti at Eastleigh airport too. -
I suggest you all look at what happened in the last Ashes series down-under before you accuse me of being negative. This is an Australian team down on its luck, on a pretty big losing streak, with problems in its camp and universally dismissed as the weakest Ashes team in decades. And we've handed the entire initiative and momentum to them in one day. No chance will we get it back. The Aussies have got their tails up again now, and the result of this series will be the same as the last down-under : 5-0.

What ? All I did was explain myself. Touchy... -
I see we've thrown the Ashes away on the first day again...

It was an attempt at black humour in response to one of the worst days in British military history (a toothless Royal Navy, ffs...), mixed with a curiosity to see if anyone else remembered what for me was the most vividly memorable night of the Falklands War -

Well, Ark Royal and the Harriers (that is a sh*t hot name for a band, come to think of it...). The quote was from Brian Hanrahan during the Falklands War, reporting on the Sea Harrier's first mission after entering the Exclusion Zone. I remember it well, sitting in bed feeling very depressed because Argentina was claiming they had shot down 10 on that night, and the Harrier was so unproven in combat that it could have been true, until Brian put us straight. -

A very sad day today. The end of an era and a distinguished history. -
Spoken like true Sotonians. Brings back fond memories of when I was excited in November 2004, looking forward to Xmas and discovering Southampton was going to have a German Christmas MArket, only to read on the letters page of the Echo : "If I wanted to look at a row of wooden sheds, I would have gone to B & Q"
-
Not any more, Brian.....

Superb. We have scrapped the Navy, the force that has protected this nation for centuries, but we can find more than the saving coming from it to bail out a nation that despises us and goes out of its way to p*ss us off on the international political scene.
-
I am not from Austria though, am I ? I am from Southampton. And things like this make me embarassed to say so.

Southampton : the home of brain dead idiots who dont even know how to spell "culture" and whose idea of creativity is going shopping at West Quay and getting blind drunk.

You can say "christ sake" as much as you want, and accuse me of negativity, but to borrow a phrase of your own from the play-off season, we havent been in the top two all season and dont look like breaking into it.
