...if he were a stink-normal CEO of a privately-owned Saints, with his pay and continuation of his job directly-related to the on-pitch results, without having to look over his shoulder at all this plc/corporate law bullshiiit ? I wonder about this. He's firing off in the press about loving Saints and would help if he could, would he come back under such conditions and what sort of job would he do ?

Did Lowe make the biggest mistake of all without us noticing?
alpine_saint replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Saints
Yep, its really that simple. He was still pulling (albeit longer) strings with regard to SFC between 2006 and 2008. He's now making noises about being still interested, still loving the club, wanting to help, etc. Well, guess what matey, unless you regularly play hunt the submarine in a nice, hot soapy bath with some billionare that we dont know about, you havent got a chance. Your grip on the club through your share cartel is OVER. -

The problem is, my friend, that so many convinced themselves that adminstration was not inevitable, especially the luvvies on here. I even got crap for saying that admin would automatically follow relegation - well guess what, we didnt even get that far. I really wonder about those who thought we would get away with it despite below break-even attendances AND expensive players brought back in to stop the performance rot. We could have, before March 26th, taken admin at a time of the clubs choosing, to protect it from further damage next season. But stubborness, ego, arogance, blind faith, hand-wringing etc. meant the interests of the club were totally ignored. -

I have two points in regard to this : 1. Really ? Seems to me a fair few discussions "bid situations" and enquiries occurred during this time. It was Lowe that halted all discussions and withdrew the "bid situation" 2. As event have proven, Lowe really never went away. Therefore, anyone interested would still have had to deal with him. Maybe he was still directing things from afar. We know already he put the kybosch on the SISU interest. -

What a stupid post. If you believe the second paragraph, why whinge in the first paragraph ? Is it not also likely that some of us "idiots" had the foresight to conclude the second paragraph MONTHS before you did ? -

Or so your boss would have us believe. -

I disagree. They are EXACTLY the same. I feel there is now enough anecdotal evidence floating around to inidicate he was an obstacle to investment or a buyout. -

Keep the lies up, Roops. There are 34 reasons why your scare-mongering doesnt work anymore. And apart from Kelvin Davies, I couldnt give a shiny one which players stay or go anymore. The whole squad needs a rebuild. -

So, boiling this lengthy post down to the essential message; should we have gone into admin earlier ?? Well, at the risk of annoying many people on here, some us called for this ages ago and were sneered at and abused for our trouble.. -
Barclays: "Significantly increase attendances" AND "sell players"
alpine_saint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Hardly, but I recgonise what prize arseholes bankers can be. After all, Lowe is one of them too, along with such luminaries such as Sir Fred "F**kwit" Goodwin -
Barclays: "Significantly increase attendances" AND "sell players"
alpine_saint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Funny, I would have thought anyone speaking on Barclays behalf regarding the issues facing SFC would be more than a clueless d**khead where football is concerned. Sell players and raise attendances - yes of course, the bleeding obvious formula for that has been under Lowe's nose all along -
An invitation I would welcome too.
-
FFS, why doesnt he just f**k off ? How much more of Lowe's special brand of "building up" can this club take ? I pray that someone buys the club and blocks Lowe from ever getting involved again.

Martin Samuel (Mail) The Saints, The Sinners...

Its mathematically possible I will win the Euro Lottery and buy SFC myself too.

ROI may be a bit of an issue here...

Sophistry. If Barclays hadnt called their markers in, we would have still been relegated due to the direction he took us in, and falling gate revenue and ST sales would have killed us next season anyway.
-
Bolllocks. Its all about what fears will happen to him in the future, as in the perception of being damaged good in the city. Maybe he fears he will get the boot from WH Ireland.

The registrations and contracts for a bunch of unfit, demotivated and basically shiit players. Great.

Including SOGGY himself.

Agree. Half are probably Pompey wind-ups. Let's hope they are receiving short shrift..

Yep, nice to see you've focused on the important issues there... -

Amen. So long as it doesnt take SFC with it. -

Cant you just say "crap" or "dissapointing" then ? Or would your Messiah not approve the use of such language ?
