Well, that's complete bollllocks. I never believed that Crouch would be so stupid as to go for the cheap approach, especially with the likes of Billy Davies available, so I would never had said "anyone but Burley, including Dodd and Gorman", because I never believed it would come to that. Once again : I may have refused to believe that we would end up with D & G, but I never said I would accept them so long as Burley piissed off.

Poortvillet and Wotte have no track record in English football, most of our players are kids with no experience, and we are trying to implement a revolutionary style of play for the CCC. It's an experiment. Burley is supposed to be a proven manager with a good track record of building leading teams to the playoffs (if not actually winning them...) - much less of an experiment (on paper, at least...)

Here's the rub : - some of us have learnt from the past and dont trust Lowe - the question as to whether Lowe has learnt anything remains to be seen. IMO: - he has learnt to keep that gob of his shut to the media - he hasnt learnt jack-shiit about football management, he still thinks he knows a better way of doing things and is still indulging himself with his experiement - he hasnt learnt to treat fans with respect and recognise we aint all stupid, there is still plenty of PR/spin/smoke-and-mirrors tricks going on

So what's the answer ???? Considering the mega-rich owners coming into football over the last few years, it seems to me Lowe chose the absolutely worst moment to get c.ocky and take his eye off the ball, leading to our relegation. If it had happened 5 yrs earlier, we wouldn't feel so wretched. If it hadnt happened, we probably be one of the rich big-boys under new owners too.
