  1. I want to know where the evidence is of an expansion not happening. At the end of the day NC will do his research regarding timings, finance, seating, costs, corporate revenues etc. if its right to expand he will if it's not he won't. There seems to be a lot of people on here who seem certain they know that expansion is not good for the club right now. So I ask again where is the evidence for this and please don't say because we only got 18000 at this cup game......as I think there is a bit more to it than that. The fact that he may have said at a dinner or two that he's looking into it means it MAY be in the balance. If this is pure fiction it doesn't matter as I'd be very surprised if he's wasn't looking into the figures of whether it was feasible. I'd expect him as a banker to look at all potential revenue streams.
  2. Just had a thought. Hull will know what tactics West Ham will play. They will be all out attack for a high score. Knowing that must help a manager decide how he will play against it. I'd go for counter attack as they will need to get heads forward. West ham will be very vunrable at the back though deadly up front. A little bit of luck and they could get tonked by a more than capable Hull city
  3. Even if we might have to play him in the play offs.....**** or bust then
  4. I've been trying to put that out of my head as we would be up now looking at winning against Cov to try and win the championship
  5. Maybe that should be a new thread?
  6. He looked injured against Middlesbrough...groin.
  7. Personally I'm much more nervous/excited about this game than the cup final in 2003. Winning in 2003 was a dream as Arsenal were always favourites to do so. Losing that day was bad but in someways there was also a sense of achievement and pride just getting there. This game is different, there is also a huge prize at stake and one that can take the club forward, the FA cup argubly doesn't only in the respect of club history. In this game we have been in the top two all season and at the top for most of it so to fail on the last day to a team like Coventry would be truely devastating. So this game is bigger in the respect of how I will feel on the day but not bigger than 2003 in the sense of club history. I can't really comment on 1976 as I was just a baby but i would say that game is only bigger as we know who won it. Would it have felt such a big game if we lost??????
  8. Just been chatting to a west ham fan. He thinks its great that its gone to the last day and they are still in with a shout but he's not even considering anything other than the play offs. Said it was pointless to get any hopes up as we will beat Cov and even if we have a shocker we will still be good enough for a draw and he doesn't think West ham will get more than 3 past Hull. When you hear it from their side it makes you feel better about Saturday.
  9. I agree though that this game is not as big due to the fact we do have other chances if we fail to win....west ham need to win......or the playoffs...or drawing and westham only winning by 1 or 2.
  10. True if we win easily after scoring 2 in the first 5. However if we are 1 down with 5 to play and west ham are only 1 up I'm sure you'd be thinking differently.
  11. and to have a season where pompey get relegated from the same division makes it even sweeter.
  12. I agree the FA cup finals are bigger but in a way this feels bigger with everything we have gone through in the last few years. This really would be the icing on the cake.
  13. I'm putting £20 on. If the un thinkable happens that should be enough for a night out to forget about it. Only trouble is with my luck, saints will draw and west ham win big resulting in the playoffs for us and me £20 light.
  14. Is this game bigger than the 76 or 03 fa cup finals or the last games of the season to stay up while in the prem? Certainly the biggest at SMS. I think with the money involved now it has got to be up there. Last game of the season and only a win guarantees promotion with all the riches. I think the only way it could be bigger is if we were playing West ham with a winner takes all contest. In 78 we got promoted on the last game but I believe unless there was a freak result with GD this was nailed on anyway.
  15. Cov have one hope IMO and that is if we have someone sent off resulting in a Pen. If not even if they score I can't see us not scoring at least twice.
  16. I know I'm picking holes but if West ham are level and we draw a ball crossing the line for West Ham makes no difference to the table. We'd still be above them on GD.
  17. Yeah imagine what they'd being doing if they were in admin for a second time in two years and bring the game into disrepute again!!!! We will still get skate fans saying how hard done by they are though!
  18. If my prediction is to come true west ham needed to score 2
  19. I could see barca getting 2 or 3 against Chelsea too
  20. Depends on how they've organised the Cov fans.....probably not though as they will still have a few spare seats there end. Best is if they fully sell out
  21. Sorry if this has been posted already http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17812553
