  1. It may well be that he just isn’t happy down south. He’s a Yorkshire lad who’s spent most of his life there or just across the border in Burnley. Whatever his problem is, it clearly transcends managers, so a move back north wouldn’t surprise me.
  2. Just the six consecutive defeats against them, in all comps. Last time we beat them at St Mary’s we went top of the league.
  3. The striker or the submarine murderer?
  4. Why, having been relegated to the Championship, would we sell a half decent Championship goal scorer for a significant loss on what we paid for him? £10m looks about right to me.
  5. Since we sacked Ralph - P46 W4 D7 L35 The last time we won a PL game by more than one goal was against Norwich in February 2022.
  6. I don’t want to finish below Derby’s record and have that hanging over us but as an alternative timeline, how about if we lose every game from now until the end of the season, apart from a 4-0 win away to Everton. Imagine the looks on their fan’s faces if we finished on 9 points but still did the double over them, won the last ever game at Goodison and sent them down. It’d be f**king hilarious.
  7. I was at that game and the most hilarious thing about it was that we were winning at the time they were time wasting. Think he might have set up Lambert’s goal but can’t remember that for certain.

    Israel

Nope. Never expressed any opinion I’d consider to be ‘pro-Israeli’ just a rudimentary understanding of that particular conflict and what motivates both sides to do what they do. I can’t even be arsed going into it again, suffice to say some people are still not getting the basic ideas.
  9. I’ve no problem with Jan being in the squad next season. What was absolutely ludicrous was getting promoted and then signing two CBs who are actually worse than him. A bit like if we’d been promoted in 2012 with Fonte and Hooiveld, then signed Dan Seaborne as a PL ‘squad player’.
  10. His six goals, including a pen, in half a season really isn’t much to go on. Especially when he failed to score in the half a La Liga season he played before that. I think Brett Ormerod score five goals in a week once, it’s really not much of a sample to go on. To put it bluntly, he just looked sh*t every time I saw him play.
  11. I fear he’s one of those who’ll just stick around forever, as an accepted part of the furniture. Not only that, in a couple of years he’ll get a testimonial and the club will be actively celebrating an astonishingly substandard player being a regular fixture for over a decade.
  12. How are we supposed to immediately loan him out to Goztepe, if we only sign him on loan ourselves? Is it like some kind of HMO sub-letting scheme?
  13. We might be losing an unwanted record at Portman Road. The biggest away win of the season is currently a three way tie of 0-5s, two of which are against Saints. City currently 0-5 up.
  14. Pleased for TP to finally get off the mark, hopefully that gives him a bit of belief to maybe pop up with a couple more this season. The negatives though; we were dreadful first half and the game was all but over after 41 minutes. Bednarek's goal was an absolute fluke and Ramsdale has had an absolute mare. The disallowed goal was a howler and he can't be conceding the three he did at this level. Hopefully the Newcastle game is more second half than first.
  15. Was that not agreed in like, 2019?
  16. Christ, this is turning into a game of ‘My grandma went to market’ but I’m sticking with it. Okay, 4-3, Archer to score, a late TP off the bench, JWP own goal and a Sugawara header.
  17. Rest issues aside, that's probably part of why Juric dropped Sully, even after a decent game at OT. He wouldn't get half the space he had on Thursday if he was playing right now.
  18. Okay, 2-1. Archer and a late TP off the bench.
  19. United 1-0 down at home to Brighton after 5 mins. A real shame we couldn't hang on there, United could have been looking at 5 consecutive home league defeats.
  20. Seems like a pretty sensible way of reminding a 16 year old who left for more money that he's not bigger than the club and that he'd have to fight his way into the team to earn a bigger contract. If we'd given in to this kind of thing and given him a nice juicy pay deal, every 14 year old, their parents and agents would be pulling the same stunt. SR do a lot wrong but fair play to them for putting their foot down on this.
  21. It's not, we're playing this slot purely for scheduling reasons after our Thursday night game. I'm not sure why you would want a stream without some tart twiddling her fanny, that's likely to be the highlight of the afternoon. In fact I may expand that box (the video box, not... nevermind) and watch it instead of the match.
  22. Why does it have to be someone like Cornet, where has that criteria come from? SAA and Ballard can't seem to get into the squad ahead of Ryan Fraser or Adam Armstrong, which isn't exactly a high bar. To me that would suggest they aren't ready, as would SAA's performances last year and Ballard's one goal in twenty two for Blackpool.
  23. I can't remember all the details but didn't those three all want to leave? I know we sold Meghoma but he only had one year left on his deal anyway, IIRC.
  24. I'm not sure I follow your point. I'd rather have a player who can contribute to our first team now, even if he has no long term interest in the club. That would be preferable to having more Alex Jankewitzs and Alan Tchaptchets on the pitch.
