  1. This, I don’t know why people think managers will just agree to whatever terms happen to suit us and sign any piece of paper we stick in front of them.
  2. We’ve got an awful squad, which will almost certainly get us relegated whoever is in charge, especially given where we now are in the table. Proven PL managers, even ones who aren’t really that inspiring like Moyes and Potter, were never really likely to want to come here. The only thing that would have tempted them would have been an absolute wheelbarrow full of cash, which would have been a massive waste on our part.
  3. I am neither overwhelmed nor underwhelmed. You may consider me moderately whelmed.
  4. Dreadful first half, much better second. I said I’d settle for a result which wasn’t embarrassing so can’t have too many complaints.
  5. It's not a consequence at all, officials have been getting offsides wrong since the dawn of time. Palace look like they were on the wrong end of an offside goal tonight too.
  6. Like the Brighton game, we're looking a lot better in the second half.
  7. Last season we won quite a few games with late goals, so we were clearly doing something right. I highly doubt we got promoted and said, "alright, fitness isn’t important any more, let’s go down the waffle house." Liverpool just look like a team at the opposite end of the confidence and belief spectrum to us.
  8. I wouldn’t say we looked unfit so much as devoid of confidence and belief, which losing every week tends to take from you.
  9. You don’t have to defend anything if the ball just gets blown well over everyone’s head and out for a throw in or goal kick, which is happening to both sides ATM. Our best attack of the game just came from a low, direct pass into Fernandes, who played a neat through ball to Dibling.
  10. Why? Anything long or up in the air is going to be blown off course. It’s a night for keeping it down on the deck and relatively short.
  11. Farage looks like a man who has never seen someone fold their arms before, only read about it in books.
  12. Agree to disagree I guess. Numerically, last season was 12 points and 10 goals better than 06/07, I always felt like we were in a fight with three decent teams, rather than just scraping into the mix at the end, like Burley's team did. My combined team would probably be: Bazunu KWP Baird THB Bale Downes Pele Armstrong Surman Skacel Rasiak
  13. We could play him anyway and get a 3-0 forfeit for fielding an ineligible player. Just saying.
  14. Cheers for that, I'll check it out. Incidentally, Anne Summers are selling a gimp mask, ball gag and leather thong set for 20% off, if anybody wants to wear something slightly less degrading and humiliating.
  15. I thought they made energy efficient lightbulbs but apparently he was actually a footballer as well.
  16. I think crawling through 500 yards of sh*t smelling foulness is a great metaphor for this season.
  17. F**k me, Diallo, I forgot he ever existed in a Saints shirt. Possibly the biggest non-entity footballer we've ever had, I literally can't remember one thing he did here.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c4gx6p347dgt Day 950 of three day special military operation, Syria has been conquered by rebel militia, senior general assassinated within farting distance of the Kremlin.
  19. Derby were worse than us. They weren’t even that good in the Championship, they just sh*thoused every team they played.
  20. Burley scraped into sixth with three wins late in the season, then choked the playoffs to the worst team ever to be promoted. Last season was far better.
  21. Never in a month of Sundays. We’ll do well to get 20. Agree A tall order I wouldn’t get your hopes up, this isn’t a squad full of goals. Depends entirely on the luck of the draw. We might nick a 1-0 but I can’t see how we’d ever manage a walloping.
  22. Sounds great. Now if we could just sell a few players we could make it even okayer ready for summer.
  23. Slightly off topic but I can't for the life of me understand people betting on something as mundane as who the next manager of a football club is going to be.
  24. I wouldn't say last season was one of my favourites ever but it was enjoyable and ultimately we achieved our objective. We were only a point behind what Adkins achieved and we started at the complete opposite end of the spectrum in terms of confidence and cohesion. After that difficult August and September we looked consistently decent and basically matched the three teams above us in terms of results.
  25. Achievement is relative. Adkins took Scunthorpe to 15th in the Championship but he did a cracking job for us. I’m not saying Rohl is the right man and I’ve not seen enough of Wednesday to really have much of an opinion, but he has definitely moved them up in the world from when he took over.
