A good window for me would be selling five players and bringing in nobody. That way we'd at least set ourselves up for next season, with a few off the wage bill and a bit of money stashed away or used to pay off debt. KWP can be one of them, sell him cheap now rather than let him go free in summer. It's not like he's done much.
-
Bit of a nothing game for us really but I suppose we've got to turn up at least. If we've got nothing better to do, please can we at least go with a basic 4-2-3-1 and not get embarrassed. McC KWP - THB - Bednarek - Manning/Taylor Aribo - Downes Armstrong - Dibling - Fernandes Archer Something like that

I think your last sentence is not far off the money. If Wednesday stand on their tiptoes and really stretch, they might just be able to tickle the b*llocks of the playoffs but they wouldn't be my bet for promotion. In summer, if he has two Championship clubs to choose from, you'd have to say we were the better bet for promotion.
-
Well, thanks for last season and Wembley Russ. I think the PL was a step beyond his ability as a manager but he did get us promoted at the first attempt, which is more than we could say about Redknapp or Burley. Hopefully we've got someone decent already lined up as 'interim periods' are never pleasant.

I guess we're about to find out. Going to be an interesting few days.

Israel's view of what's best for Israel is all about Israel. They don't care about me, you or pretty much anyone else in the world, other than the Americans who keep signing off on the military exports. My view isn't blinkered, I have never at any point tried to claim what Israel is doing is best for anyone other than themselves. Somebody claimed their actions we're in their own best interests, I disagree, I think they know exactly what they're doing.

It's not going to help either, if there's nobody half decent willing to replace him. By all means give GO'N a go but he's got to actually want to take on a basket case relegation certainty. Paying off Russ however million it's going to cost and then sticking the next Dodd/Gorman/Wigley/Kelvin/Selles in for the rest of the season isn't going to help matters.

I'm not the one being needlessly unpleasant to a stranger on the internet who supports the same football team. 🤷♂️
-
Two people above mentioned him specifically and until we appoint someone else it's him and/or Calderwood in charge. I'm not saying I want Martin to stay, I'm saying there's no point in binning him for the sake of it IF we don't actually have a replacement lined up.
-
I think some of you are overestimating Adam Lallana's management prowess just a tad. Five points is sh*t but it's nowhere near as embarassing as zero.
-
There's no point sacking him if we can't actually find someone decent to replace him. I'm hoping we can pull another Ralph out of somewhere in Europe but there're pretty long odds on that I fear.
-
I swear that’s about the fourth time we’ve shipped five against Spurs at Christmas in recent years. What a ludicrous thing to pull off so consistently.
-
Amazed we’ve kept Dibling on the whole match. His minutes need to be managed, an absolute waste of time having him on in the second half.
-
-
He was lucky VAR took the heat off him against Brighton. All the interfering or not debate distracted people from how absolutely dreadful it was for him to be a solid yard offside in that situation in the first place. Will be useful again next year but a truly hopeless PL footballer.
-
Lucky you, it’s still 0-0.
-
Have 11 goals ever been scored at the same end in a PL match?
-
Some people do. I really can’t be bothered trawling threads trying to find who said what but they’re out there. Yeah they probably are but they’re still the worst (and also stupidly large) collection of players in the division. Will we sack Martin? Hopefully, probably… I don’t care. Nobody was going to keep this lot up, I don’t really care if we finish bottom with 12 or 22 if I’m honest. Just please FFS beat Derby, we don’t deserve that record AND two 9-0s.
-
I’ve not so much been defending him as refusing to believe that this absolutely sh*te show of a season is all his fault, or rather hilariously, that we have a midtable squad which is being held back by the manager. I spent the whole summer wondering when we were actually going to start signing PL footballers, only to be left still waiting. Tonight we had people slating the manager for dropping a keeper who was released by mid-table Boro, a defender who Swansea fans all agreed was sh*t and a striker who scored 4 goals in all competitions for Sheff Utd. That just about sums up the utterly appalling state of everyone involved in this football team. Martin, the players, SR, the whole f*cking lot of them.
-
It’s not embarrassing, I actually applaud them for sitting through this and not walking out.
-
Uncle Buck is on ITV2.
-
Good fucking grief.
-
It's not tongue in cheek, people are genuinely upset by this nonsense. At a guess, I'd assume because McC has had injury issues and was playing with strapping/injections against Liverpool.
-
No, he's dropped because he's a bottom half Championship keeper and our fourth choice. I know EVERYTHING needs to be Martin's fault but Christ, he's being criticised for dropping Joe f**king Lumley.
-
No Wood because Bednarek and THB are better. Armstrong or Archer isn’t much of a choice, I’d go with Archer personally but they’re both Championship strikers.
