I think a lot of people are going to be cheesed off if in two weeks they’re still not allowed to go to the beach or a garden centre but somewhere else 500 people are allowed to gather in the same buildings for prolonged periods of extended body contact.
-
That would be my most likely assumption too. It makes the suggestion that we should have been more relaxed in our approach look ridiculous, I don’t know how people have arrived at the conclusion that we are overreacting to hysteria.
-
This basically. For example Britain and Germany both have pretty much the same number of confirmed cases, around 160,000. However the UK has nearly 22,000 deaths compared to Germany's 6,000. Given that there's no cure or effective treatment we either have a lot more cases, or the Germans have been more picky on their cause of death. Plus there are certain social factors, like German having fewer men aged 85 plus - the most at risk group.

We are and anyone with any sense can see that these restrictions are necessary to prevent a massive pile up of bodies. You're trying to compare a spike of a couple of weeks winter flu with a worldwide pandemic and that's after all the countermeasures we've taken.

I don't think you can really, it's like trying to chose between Bertrand and Schneiderlin. I think with that formation (which is definitely my favourite since we came up) you need the right balance in the front four. Jay Rod and Mane are competing for that burst of pace and direct running role, which Mane wins for me. Then Lambert/Ings/Pelle for the main striker, Tadic and Lallana for the creativity and Davis and Armstrong for the 'engine'. I think you need one of each to work properly.

Shame they can’t really stick the turf in the car park, I could do with a bit at the moment. The amount of moss and thatch I’ve been raking out, it’s tempting just to dig up the lot and start over.
-
Has to be Tadic for me, the way he took teams apart in the first half of Koeman's first season was just brilliant to watch. Against Sunderland he was just a machine; a goal and four assists. Then he got our first win at OT in f**k knows, that Bournemouth game under Hughes, ripping Chelsea to bits at the Bridge when Mourinho got sacked. On his day he was unplayable. I know he was inconsistent but Lallana was nothing special in the first season either.
-
Firstly, it's more than just Pelle's goals. He's a physical presence and held the ball up well. Secondly, you've just taken one Pelle season and combined both of Ings' for some reason. Pelle was fully fit for almost the entirety of his two year spell, which is not something Ings can claim. Pelle has 23 in 2 seasons, Ings has 22 but would probably edge ahead if we played the remainder of this season. Pelle is also much better looking, whereas Ings sort of looks like a tall dwarf.

Or c) There is a god but it doesn’t confirm to any human preconceptions, including any of the known religions.

I agree, he’d walk into my 3rd choice team. McCarthy Chambers - Yoshida - Bednarek - Targett Hojbjerg - Lemina Redmond - JWP - Gabbiadini Lambert
-
Thinking about it, Rickie probably wouldn’t be in my second choice either Forster Cédric - Fonte - Lovren - Shaw Cork - Romeu J Rod - Armstrong - Lallana Ings
-
Boruc Clyne - Toby - Virgil - Bertrand Morgan - Victor Mane - Davis - Tadic Pelle

There are planks who will go out despite suspecting they are infected, with or without a mask. It’s no different really. As long as the message gets through to the 95% - don’t go out, even with a mask, we can control the rate of infection. No plan is idiot proof. I don’t see how you can dispose of it in a way which is worse than breathing all over everyone within close proximity. You put it in a bin and wash your hands - most people should be able to get the message on that.

I wouldn’t have thought they were that difficult to produce. If this is going to be a long term thing I’d have thought a few make shift factories could be put up in old warehouses, much like we did with the Nightingale Centre. Heck, even if some of the materials for optimal filtration are in limited supply literally anything will help. Even a sock, gaffer taped to your face, will trap some molecules and reduce the risk of transmission.

I don't think there ever was one. I think if anything the government were playing up the doubt to try and stop people from panic buying supplies which are needed for healthcare workers. A mask can't not help. Anything which acts as a barrier for aerosols is going to provide some form of protection, even if it isn't 100% guaranteed. This is going to form part of the strategy for reopening businesses. Masks will probably end up being compulsory in some establishments, just as soon as we can secure a reliable supply of them.

There’s a photo going around Twitter alleging to show him in a glass coffin. Heap of salt and all that...

Here's his surgical team leaving the operating theater after the heart monitor went flat.

Rules might be relaxed on social meetings, getting together in a park, beach etc. But I don’t think it’ll be in bars and restaurants. They will probably be last to reopen, along with music venues/gigs and public ally attended sporting events. It just can’t be done with social distancing.
-
I think you will find most of those flights are almost empty and are only running for cargo and a few passengers for whom travel is essential. I'd have thought hairdressers and the like will reopen long before bars and restaurants, for a couple of reasons. Firstly a haircut is more important than having a few drinks and a slap up meal. Secondly, the latter actively encourages close social interaction, not to mention food preparation and one barmaid handling everyone's drink glass. A hairdresser you can sort of get away with, especially if they wear a mask.

Oh I agree, there’re about a dozen countries out there which need a one child policy for a while but we need to do everything else we can. Long term we need both population control and reduced environmental impact, which means starting now.

Almost sounds as if we should try and do something about it.

It’s easy to slag off the no-hopers but what were the worst ‘surprisingly’ bad performances you remember. The rule is they have to be relative to average performances that season, so for example Le Tiss putting in a 20 minute cameo in his final season, when he wasn’t even close to fitness, wouldn’t count. I’ll set the ball rolling with Fabrice Fernandes at Highbury. I can’t remember another player ever being dragged off after 25 minutes, with Saints already 5-0 down. Whilst he wasn’t solely responsible, that was pretty bad.

Can’t be bothered watching an hour and forty of whatever that is, can you summarise?
