  1. I reckon there’s something evolutionary in it. Most primates I can think of live in clans/groups or whatever the collective term is and tend to be quite standoffish against each other. Perhaps we’ve evolved some form of antagonism towards those who appear physically different, or at least a mistrust.
  2. Come on Saints, if ever we were due a win in a fixture...
  3. I don't mind a bit of PS4 and online gaming but I don't get this whole industry of people live streaming themselves on Twitch or whatever.
  4. Yep. There’s an app where delivery slots pop up randomly during the day and you just accept the ones which suit you. It is a bit oversubscribed, in terms of having more drivers than slots, but if you keep the app open and keep refreshing you can get something most days.
  5. Works out as around £13 per hour. Not spectacular but better than nothing.
  6. A fair number of people seem genuinely surprised when I knock on their door, as in they weren’t expecting it until tomorrow at the earliest. It’s little wonder the high street has been dying.
  7. I really can't tell if this was intended or not.
  8. Yep, we’re trying to.
  9. I've been doing Amazon deliveries the last few months, it's great as far as I'm concerned.
  10. I think you’re splitting hairs there and missing the point. A lifetime of drinking to excess and shovelling white powder up your nose isn’t something to be admired. 99% of people who do it aren’t living some rock’n’roll dream, they’re ruining their own life and those of the people they care about.
  11. I can’t say I admire that, if I’m honest. Society needs to move away from the ‘rock and roll’ image of alcohol and substance abuse.
  12. Girls with nose rings. I'm just not sure what's supposed to look good about it.
  13. Life has come full circle and begun satirising itself.
  14. Cowes harbour, this time next week.
  15. It’s Man Utd, we always play really well against them. Apart from a period of about six seconds when we completely forget to mark Yorke, Van Nistelrooy, Owen, Zlatan, Lukaku, Martial or some other apex predator of European football.
  16. I’ve been to a few games against United but my personal favourite moment was Chaplow’s thunderbolt in the FA Cup in (I think) the 3rd round in 2011.
  17. You’ve used Yodel as well then I take it.
  18. 6 cans of Tennents and some KFC?
  19. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54810392 Amazed he made it to 60 if I’m honest, he was clearly off his tits at the last World Cup.
  20. Could have sworn we beat Cardiff when he was there, when Gazza had a surprisingly good game in goal.
  21. As far as I’m aware Covid can’t be sexually transmitted, so I’m not sure that was ever stopping you. So long as it’s outdoors and only with one person from another household.... On a serious note, a good friend of mine who’s a popular poster on here (well, he’s tolerable at least) has just been released from a week in hospital on a drip, oxygen and steroids. I’ll let him out himself if he chooses but it doesn’t sound like he’s had a pleasant time and he’s neither obsese, a smoker nor elderly. I’ll take my chances on being one of the 0.01% of vaccine takers who get headaches and dizziness, or whatever people think might happen, over actually having the virus, please.
  22. It’s tragic, I’ve seen so many people reacting to the Qantas statement as if their human rights are being abuse. I honestly don’t know how much some people think they’re entitled to in life.
  23. 1st para - Yes, that’s basically what I’m saying. I’m assuming 70% take the vaccine and it works on 90% of them, that’s 63% vaccinated, so roughly 1/3. Minus, as you say, a number who don’t take the vaccine AND already have natural immunity. Even if that’s another 1/3 of the other 37% (a wildly optimistic overestimate), you’ve still got around 1/4 of the population not in any way protected. You can argue that with 75% herd immunity we will eventually get rid of the virus but I don’t want it gone eventually. I want it gone as soon as possible, the fewer people walking around not immune the better. The longer this sticks around, the more chance it has to mutate and reinfect.
  24. What’s your point? Let’s say 10% of the population can’t take the vaccine for whatever reason and it doesn’t work for another 10%. Best case scenario, 20% of the population are walking around, exposed to the virus. If another 20% stand on their anti-vax principles, you’ve got about 1/3 of the population walking around unvaccinated and spreading it.
  25. Probably just me being a tool but whenever I see headlines like, ‘Chelsea take on Rennes’, I can’t help but picturing a team full of Renne Artois’ complete with dirty aprons.
