  1. It's a bloody mess, either way.
  2. It's a bit ambiguous, dune. I'm not sure if he's saying 'you will not be', or 'you are not going to'.
  3. I blame the turtles.
  4. Or is it *you'll. Lost twice already...
  5. *you're You've already lost, dinlo.
  6. It happens a lot as you get older, trust me.
  7. ...
  8. Then pass on my advice to your parents and stop listening to them until they take it.
  9. I think you've got to ask yourself why you even know this has happened and then change your habits accordingly.
  10. I suppose the main differences are that this is a more serious crime than spitting, and carries a stiffer penalty; that this has actually been referred to the police by a member of the public and as such must be investigated. I think your point about players punching each other is a valid one though. Am I right in remembering that Duncan Ferguson got busted for this a few years back?
  11. How and why do you reckon a criminal offence should be dealt with by an employment disciplinary procedure? Are we saying that the football pitch is no-man's land and anything goes? If I raped someone in a team meeting, maybe I should expect it to be ironed out by the HR department?
  12. You're quite right on both points. But in answer the the question I was (falteringly) answering, Rebecca Adlington is demonstrably the best at what she does and has the medals to prove it, whereas Andy Murray, good player though he must be, is not. TBH I'd love to see Alastair Cook win it as he's both excellent and completely devoid of personality.
  13. Rebecca Adlington? Jessica Ennis? People who've won stuff?

I guess some things you've got to put down to youthful immaturity. The 'coward' thing is not an uncommon view, but it usually betrays a lack of understanding. Still pretty insensitive though.

  16. RIP indeed. Bates and Reed will be limbering up for the great homoerotic play-fight in the sky...

Yeah, that's what 'spreading rumours' means.

And then put it up as a news story entitled, 'Robbie Savage sheds tears for Gary Speed'
  21. Top quality player. I always thought he looked a little bit like a sausage.
  22. Didn't some of the used to be in Dub War? I've still got some records of theirs somewhere, signed when they played the Joiners.
  23. This is actually the first time for several years when I have begun to care about the England team. Fabio is finally coming good on his promise to pick players on form; the lazy, perennially defeated old guard have finally lost their places, and exciting young players are being given a chance. These two friendlies have seen an England team finally accepting the truth of it's place in the hierarchy of world football (i.e. not as good as the top sides) and playing to it's strengths. The game vs Spain was the most disciplined I've seen an England side in 20 years. It's not a time for jingoism, it's just a recognition that if England work hard and have the right attitude then they'll have enough to compete relatively well in major tournaments and may even fluke a result against one of the big boys.
  24. Would have loved to if I'd been free. I'm a big fan. Hope you had a good time...
  25. So... you had a vote on who was the most underrated player and concluded that the winner of the vote was actually highly regarded FWIW I agree, Anders often seemed to be out of his element because he was being asked to play to a system that didn't suit. English football is often shy of that free role behind the striker. Le Tiss is one of the few that have 'got away with it'.
