Anybody feel this formation is making us a bit predicatble at times especially against teams set up to defend. I'm not saying scrap this set up but we need a plan B, especially if we want Lambert and Osvaldo playing together. 4-2-3-1 provides very little width and the full backs can't always get forward. Whats also very frustating is our clear lack of having a natural winger in the team which showed when we were counter attacking against West Ham, we rarely got in behind the full backs. Think 4-2-3-1 might work better if one of the 3 was a natural winger which Lallana and JRod aren't IMO.

I'm getting a bit fed up of playing 4-2-3-1 every game. Why not have Lambert and Osvaldo playing up front together or have a plan B formation to see them play together. 4-2-3-1 is so narrow and allows for little width which is a huge problem for us at the mo. why we didn't bring a winger in is beyond me.

He'll still be used an an option from the bench in the next two. Was a poor game of little quality. Agreed with Keane's summary. Lets be honest England have no chance of winning anything with this generation of players.

A good window IMO. 3 solid signings improving each department of the team and the spine. Would have liked to have seen a winger but who knows come January. Lovren - been hugely impressive and has immediately improved the defence. Much more aggressive and commanding than the other CB's but still think Yoshida should be pairing with him. Wanyama - best player on the pitch in the first two games. Norwich he struggled alongside most of the team. Would like to see him play more box to box. Need to work out how he and Cork/Schneiderlin/JWP will fit the team. Osvaldo - what a coup. He will become amazing for us. An italian international playing for us. Amazing! How can you not be delighted with the window. Early business completed as everyone wanted.

I didn't see the Norwich game but in the other two games there were long balls, but not just hoof from the CB's Allardyce long ball. Maybe it is a plan B to the pressing game as we have learnt that teams that defend are much harder to press. Hoof balls we don't seem to do too much. Tbh what classifies as a long ball these days for stats? Not a trolling thread at all either. A good footballing debate which is rare on this forum these days.

Pleased for him. One of few world class players that comes across as a decent guy and a model professional. Fifa 14 will have a shed load of printing to do now he is a Madrid player. I remember my two Spurs mates saying he was totally rubbish when he struggled therer initially. Fickle fickle f*cksticks.

Wanyama has looked brilliant to me. Ok at Norwich he had a poor game but so did most of the team. Against Sunderland he was one of the best players on the pitch. Osvaldo has shown some very promising signs and will need time to settle in. Lovren looks a massive improvement as well. Still think we could do with one more signing to improve the creativity in the side. And to suggest Le Fondre is either p!ss poor trolling or pure thick. Very very happy with this window so far.

Thought he has been brilliant in the first two games. Morgan has been a bit poor this season. They both don't play well together.

Need a winger 100%.

4 points into the PL in the top 6 after a pretty decent performance. Yesh pretty high on it all. We're gonna upset some teams this season. Really are. And I'm not with the "we're gonna finish above Arsenal" rubbish either.

Fancy a home win for this one. Exactly the type of games we should be winning which was something that did not always go to plan last year. Another win and we can really hit the ground running. Think they'll be trying to settle down with all their new players so we're playing them at a great time. Altidore looks much better than when he was at Hull.
