  1. This is game is very similar to the Palace game. A team with nil to play for, using youngsters etc (like Palace) and in terrible form and letting in goals for fun. We need to play exactly how we have in the last two games (minus the suicidal passes ala Reading). Leeds had 16 shots, 10 on target so we really are playing a poor team. We need to watch out for Barnett and Taylor who are their two danger men. Mark them out and we should be ok. But especially Barnett we need to watch out for who is a similar styled player to Jason Roberts. We win this and promotion is within touching distance. Lets not forget the pressure is significantly more on Wham who have a tougher game at Bristol City (as we experienced and who also held out for a 0 - 0 draw at Upton). We play like we did against Reading and we'll get maximum points. Lets get behind the team on Tuesday!! COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally just some last facts to hopefully raise some positivity: - we were under more pressure from Huddersfield last season and held out for promotion - we always respond well to defeat under Adkins - were still 3 points clear and have a slightly better GD - we have been in the top two all frickin season and there is only 3 games left
  2. Good point. We win well by scoring and getting on top of teams - the opposite to Reading. Hopefully we can get ahead and control the play at Peterboro and Middlesboro not have to defend for our lives a la Reading. I never understood why we didn't get a fourth centre back just to be ableto change the formation, replace struggling players, injuries suspensions and so on.

    Guly

Sorry Bexy you are not serious are you? The bloke came on and did the job he was asked to do. We lost because our top players - AL and SRL failed to take chances in the first half whilsT Roberts and Le Fondre were lethal - that's it not poor old Guly!!!
  4. Agree when Chaplow went off we let Reading off the hook - they were really struggling to stay in the game, DeRidder came on to soon however thought he did ok but his final ball never found anyone...and he os infuriating with this turning back on himself....

    Chaplow

Give it a rest will you? We were on top until Chaplow came off so he is effective and is an important player sure he's not playing as well as beforethe injury...
  6. Sounds like Leigertwood is doubtful. From what I hear he and Karacan (out too as we all know) have been instrumental in their recent form. If our midfield plays like it did against Palace we'll no doubt have the control of the game. This is gonna be a game where we need to take our chances as their going to be limited. I think we should play at a high tempo from the KO and get at them. Same team as the Palace line up for me.
  7. The Sun linking us with him. Can't see us wanting to bring him back .... Thankfully. Matt Jarvis on the other hand.
  8. That team would have been destroyed in the PL with that drunk. The team now is a million better than that. Plus we have one thing money can't buy TEAM SPIRIT. That 06/07 team had none of it due to Burley (worst Saints manager in recent history).
  9. He's a great player. 4 goals already. Can't believe people had began trying to write him off. Laughable really.

    Guly

Guly scored 11 important goals contributing to us being in the top two. What a c*nt. He is a player with no confidence and in bad form get over it. I suppose the Chelsea fans think Torres is sh*t and a c*nt. FFS.
  11. If true then this is MASSIVE news! Would love to see SRL reach 30 league goals! He could get to 30 come full time on Saturday.
  12. Their bloody obsessed with points deductions. The only points the Skates can get is on their housing status.
  13. Utd fans were singing "City's cracking up, their cracking up, their cracking". To Footballs Coming Home. What about our own rendition "Pompey's going bust, their going bust, their going"
  14. Pathetic thread. Suppose you didn't see him win us the game last week.
  15. I'm fairly content. Norwich at home please lol.
  16. I've edited my original post as I did not want this thread to read as arrogant. And its hardly planning a promotion party is it. Surely we are in a position to look at a potential season in the Premiership as fans. Everyone knows we have seven big games yet to get through but christ surely were entitled to dream about what COULD happen next season.
  17. Ok so no dreaming about potiential promotion until it is set in stone FFS. Lock this thread then and we'll carry on speculating about the clubs finances.
  18. Friday afternoon and I'm dead bored. Everton is a good shout though.
  19. Reading let Murty take a penalty in the last game of their 106 season as he was the only one who hadn't scored in the starting line up or something. Imagine Pompey being relegated by GD because Kelvin had blasted a penalty to row Z of the Northam in the 96th minute against Coventry.
  20. IF we can hold out for promotion then who would you want first? Someone winnable maybe. Norwich at home say? I'd probably go with Newcastle at home to play a big team with a chance of getting something from. Surely we as fans are entitled to dream a little now!
  21. Let Cortese bang one in the top corner.
  22. Feelng quite content with this game. I agree with others and think a point would be a great point and keep pressure on Wham and Reading. I think Sharp will get on the scoresheet and can see him being a massive player for us in the run in. It will be interesting to see how we respond when/if we lose before the end of the season. That said under Adkins we have always responded well after a defeat.
  23. "Shearer - fair enough Le tis - great player but could have been a lot better (Joe Cole) Gareth Bale - overhyped imo, just like most british players are Wayne Bridge - He is alright, nothing to shout about Walcott - good player (could be argued that swindon had a role in his development?) Ox - See Gareth Bale (for now anyway) Personally I still think we have produced better players in the same time period." Is he comparing Le God to Joe Cole? Seriously Joe bloody Cole?! Bale and Chamberlain overhyped? Clearly this chimney sweep does not watch football.
  24. Surely this is all good news we are debt free, as the Liebherr family have effectively written off the original loan meaning if they sell we will be highly sought after with our current squad and facilities. As for the high wages, this will balance out assuming we go up won't it?
  25. If we can keep the Phillips' quiet then we should be ok in this game. I fancy us to nick 3 points. A point would be a good point though.
