  1. Trying not to judge, as I said, people can buy it if they want, its a free country! Just shocked at the attitudes between fans. The shirt represents a callous re-branding of the club and extortion of the fans, particularly charging £40 for kids strips let alone the £50 cost for the adults... Little to deny in that surely?
  2. I have just checked out the comments on the DE website regarding the new kit its popularity. I can't believe the people on there. There a few trolls on there who are being overly aggressive in abusing saints fans who have bought this kit, fair enough. But the ones who have bought it can't see that: A.) its a total rip off at £50 when you can buy it on-line for £15 B.) Think they are in the majority in that the new shirt is good C.) Either can't see that they are supporting a stealth rebranding on the club or actually support it and feel that as "true fans" that is then way to go and the rest of us (majority against re-branding) are wrong. For me, personally, it is just a shirt... I hope and feel that the numbers will stack up, and we can go back to a kit to rival the championship one in the coming seasons. But how people can argue that they are in the majority to support this kit is beyond me, our own SWF poll indicates only 16% would buy this shirt.... (maybe that is a biased poll, we are the die hard nutters who care enough to sign up to a forum after all).. but the echo poll was similarly against the shirt... So if you like it, fair enough go and buy it. But I dislike people ramming it down our throats that we are wrong and we are should embrace the club as it sells its soul. The majority wont buy this shirt (I hope), I expect to see more championship stripes and league 1 sashes than pinstripe/Arsenal jerseys this year (I hope)... And anyone who supports the club in charging the fans £50 for an AVERAGE (being kind) teamwear kit that can be bought on-line for £15 and is in use by / similar to other clubs kits, is massively letting the rest of the fan base down imho. If you like it, buy it, but you are selling out the clubs traditions and the majority of the fanbase are against it and want stripes or a certain kit from the eighties which had less stripes. Unbelievable that fans are getting aggressive abuse over this kit, let alone those who are against this kit. But ffs, it should cost £20, be distinct, and be striped!! Don't support the club in ripping us off. they don't need encouragement!!
  3. Lots of chav saints fans in v-necks incoming. Its like Portsmouth fans have switched over already. Kit would be good without it. With it it is horrendous. Worse than the home. Home kit is at least smart. Just not saints. If he wanted to change the clubs image and make us Stand out in the prem, then an all white "miss Southampton" style was the way to go. Smart, well liked, and distinct in England bar leeds' all white kits. Our marketing department are regards.
  4. On a side note. I am also going to break ranks. I think it is a smart home kit... The away is wannk.... And nothing about either is saints related
  5. Shame. Going to struggle to get enough season out of the championship kit. That was the smartest striped kit I have seen, the city, Chelsea and Liverpool wins would ha e looked so much better if red and white stripes had been sambering about them. Gutted. Blame everyone who bought last years kit... You supported the club in this endeavour now we have to listen to some of u moaning as well.
  6. All cab be found on Google. And still no thoughts by yourself as the other question you asked....
  7. Clear cut and simple really. Agent wants the money, Cortese doesn't pay greedy agents which we have seen time and time again, and was shown by our total spend of agents fees last year vs other clubs. If the player is happy to settle for a club where he will achieve less in Cardiff then fair enough. It means the player lacks ambition big time and Alarm bells are ringing for me. Let him go to Cardiff, maybe that is his level, Big fish, small pond etc etc
  8. You know, if you reverse the red and white colours, it will be close to xerox... maybe they are teasing us? Whatever the outcome, its better than what happened last year. And people who bought last years kits have no right to moan. The raptures over that kit only encouraged the club to ignore the fans this year...
  9. It is being reported on sky also.
  10. Surely he would want to take revenge on dirty owen for his filth dive that besmirched the name of his hero, The Pooch!
  11. Agreed - Mouldy coat is on something special, that or Alpine has a new account.
  12. Cardiff at home - guess at the 17th
  13. Loads have, even sky had us linked with him for circa £8m yesterday... Looks like we are very interested.
  14. The lucky phew have been granted their first Cup final of the season, as the lowly Bournemouth take on Former FA Cup winners and recent premier league side Portsmouth in the first round of the League cup... Can the cherries rise to the occasion and overcome the noise generated by the mighty fish army (50people).... In fairness, Sky overlooked this match, it is one of the biggest ties of the round... and since there is no longer a serious derby between Saints and skates, surely they should have made more of this. Bit disrespectful to Bournemouth in all honesty.
  15. Not exactly Neymar's goal vs Japan, won't be getting too excited just yet. I do think he has a solid premier career ahead of him, but he needs some quality first team experience to develop.
  16. He is a total prat by all accounts, do we really want him at our club. And yes, I have you tubed him destroying Barcelona and Athletic.... he really is immense on the field. Do we want all that comes with him. Will he be our suarez or tevez?
  17. The ground will be expanded in the next 5 years, people are kidding themselves if they think its not going to happen. Also, yes, the TV revenues dwarf the Turnstile income... but to argue that the club shouldn't invest increasing its profile, gaining more fans and improving its long term income is non sensical. If you can't capitalize on our current successes and the objectives we have, then when it ends, it will all have been for nothing. Bayern have record merchandising turnovers which put them on a par with the best in Europe despite having a much small tv rights income. The premier will not always attract the current market, other leagues will develop which will detract from it, and club merchandising and turnstile income will rise in importance. That is how I see it. The club can not and should not stand still, all routes of improvement should be utilized. And I want a St James' park style stand to go to!!!
  18. It could also mean - "Man Utd... **** Off" - as an aside.
  19. In fairness to the lad, having watched most of his interviews..... he is pretty damn slow. But then he is getting paid for his brains on the pitch, not in the real world with the rest of us.
  20. No. That is just plane wrong. I think you'll find he is signed until he is 20 years old. 3 years from 17
  21. There is nothing wrong with the likes of Andy cole, curetan, stewart, Ellington, hales etc... considering the clubs in Bristol are small in stature and struggle to compete rubgy, they have certainly produced some decent players. Don't let that stop you though, please carry on making us look like ignorant "arsenal/man utd, $hitty or chelsea" fans... good job.
  22. Are we interested in John Guidetti? I have just heard a rumour to that affect, although it was over lunchtime drink and given with a sly smile. Dare I say this on this forum, but is there actually anyone on here who is in the know on this? Braces ones self...
  23. Sorry fonte - championship/league 1, but my meaning doesn't change.
  24. Sorry, come again? Who other than Steven Davis and fox had premier league experience.... Lambert had never played above league 1, lallana and morgan had a handful of games at championship. Hammond - league 1 Fonte - League 1 Jos - No english experience what so ever I could go on... what a joker... How you can slag the man off I will never know.
  25. I think bridge could do a good job for us, he was the best fullback in the championship last year, and look how jayrod and clyne have stepped up from that level. Plus we all know that bridge can hack it in the prem anyway. His wages would be the key factor. Another point to consider, is which young players are we going to sign to be an understudy to an 18year old? I think this is key, because unless we stick with fox (shivers) then bridge is exactly the kind of player we will be targeting - older player with experience to impart on the youngsters. Also, who better to persuade the young shaw to stay at saints than someone who went to chelsea and city and wasted his career.... He also comes back to Shefield English now and again, so still has roots here. I also would like to think that he would be interested in repaying the club and fans where he made his career... perhaps that is expecting too much. The other issue ofc is Nicola's view of all things pre-take over are bad, and should be shunned or just never mentioned
