Not being antagonistic, just you mentioned scholes, and yeah he was unreal. Love this: -
Pay for my flight, I will be on the first flight to Moscow. I would happily stand shoulder to shoulder with the lgbt community in Russia and spit in putins eye. If I was to be beaten, punished, imprisoned or kills then so be it. You sit by on the side and say there is nothing people can do, let people carry on, personally this holds no sway with me, and I feel you are missing the point entirely. I can't help but feel you haven't actually read the letter. Exactly how is shutting up going to help anything? There was a time when Darwin was called a heretic, should he have just shut up and bowed to the church? Things change through the actions of brave people, anyone that has spent anytime studying any part of the history of humanity will understand this. Sitting on your arse saying stop telling others to stand up for their beliefs is total cowardice. The world would be a lot worse place if it were not for people like Martin Luther king, Charles Darwin, Nelson Mandela, benazhir Bhutto, ghandi who spoke out, who went against the grain. And yeah, Qatar, much like UAE are equally culparable, and I will be first in line to criticise and do anything possible to change what I can.

The one question I have is, is it their homosexuality that makes them miserable, or ****ing backward ****s like you with your archaic views that make them miserable? I'm not saying I'm perfect, clearly far from be it, but if everyone shared my, Barry, pap etc's stance would they be so miserable. Not that I believe you actually know any gay people, seeing as you are effectively saying that they are all wrong in the head. People like you make me wish I believed in hell, as there would be a special placed reserved for your narrow minded bigotry. Maybe this is ott, maybe I should be infracted, whatever. But your patent lack of understanding or empathy is absolutely outstanding. What exactly is it you are scared of? You seem petrified of these big bad mincers? Why should people not think it is normal? Gay people are perfectly normal, pleasant, positive contributors to society. Your phobia is born solely out of ignorance. What's the matter? Some repressed feelings deep down you have issues with? Deadly serious, what have the gays ever done to you? It's not like this is some new phenomenon, throughout history there are plenty of well established figures that were homosexual. It is not a case of there suddenly being more, just more accepting people. Thankfully, the vast majority of those on here demonstrate that times are changing, such Neanderthal, knuckle dragging opinions are being left behind, and those that stick to them are left to look as silly and outdated as the pathetic arguments they make sound.

Honesty is my only option. I am the worst liar in the history of the human race.

If I had feelings for someone, or was attracted to them - I like to think that I would. That said, I have only ever been attracted to and had feelings (of that nature) for females, so it's hard to be 100%.
-
Nope, not at all. All good buddy. I like all fellow PJ lovers
-
Don't give up so easy. My stance has been unwavering all my life - if I was attracted to or had feelings for a guy - I would go for it. It just happens that I have only ever been attracted to ladies.
-
For all our differences Barry, credit where it is due, I like this side of you. I shared a flat in halls with a gay guy who described himself as "the biggest fairy ever" within about 10 seconds of meeting him. He is one of my best mates now. I went to pride with him and some of his friends in Leeds several times, and had a great day each time. He also worked in a few of the gay bars/clubs in town and used to get some of us to come down (free drinks and entry is always a winner with me) and never failed to have a great night. Friendly, fun and nonjudgmental. I actually managed to meet a few nice girls - who go there to get away from letchy guys - then they ran into me poor things! I love the gays so much I almost wish I was one sometimes, girls are hard bloody work.
-
Scientifically - there is no proof either way. But anecdotal evidence is pretty overwhelming. I have never met a homosexual who has said otherwise. Granted I have not met every gay person in the world, but I have met a lot and from conversations I've had, that is how it is.
-
You're straight right? Have you ever sat and consciously decided that? Or is it that you have just only ever been attracted to women? It's the same for gay people, they don't think oh I'm not getting anywhere with girls, I'll just go for guys instead. Or, oh it's cool to be gay, or this will annoy the parents etc. I have many dear friends that are gay, and like you gay family members. Talking to them, they all say they just knew from a pretty young age that they were not attracted to members of the opposite sex.
-
Go to Gay Pride. It is a great day out, and straight people (like myself) are welcome with open arms. No one is crusading to turn the whole world gay.
-
Why is it wrong on so many levels? How on earth can you 'actively promote' homosexuality. No one encourages people to be gay. It isn't a choice you ignorant dinosaur. People are either gay or they are not gay. Discussing people's sexuality is perfectly normal, and should be encouraged at a young age. This can help to stop problems further down the line. In fact, I strongly believe that if children were taught about it at a much younger age then such violence, oppression and bigotry would be much less prevalent. Perhaps you should try and educate yourself a bit more on the matter.

Rickie Lambert called up for England
KelvinsRightGlove replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in Golden Posts
Absolutely delighted for the guy. Seems like an absolutely top bloke, bona fide saints legend. -
Fair to say, they are a group of strong beards. I like this. Yet another reason to love them.
-
Surely there is only one winner when it comes to the beard stakes, has to be Pip surely?
-
Is a 40 year old Kevin Phillips the sort of signing that is likely to keep them up? WHat would your reaction have been if that was a Nic/Les signing eh?
-
Well, they had a league headstart on us, and we still got there first. We also survived our first year in the Prem, which they look rather unlikely to do. If you think our transfers were bad - Dwight Gayle for £8m? Kevin Phillips? They are no hopers.
-
But he did know they were lower-half of the championship & about to go into administration. In comparison, we had been recently taken over, had a manager with decent experience at a higher level and were spending large amounts relative to our league placing. Ramirez also didn't say he came here solely for the money. So just stop trying to peddle that myth. How exactly can you saying Ramirez came for the money, whilst also insinuating Fonte came for the money, and then repeatedly claim Cortese is too tight to open his wallet for next level players? That is a contradiction in terms Barry. Try and claim it isn't, but anyone with the slightest bit of intelligence can see how pathetic and weak this argument is.
-
Good on Mr. Fry. Unsurprising that it is such a compelling piece, the mans verbal dexterity is a joy to behold. I'm 100% in support with him. Oppression and discrimination of this sort today is unacceptable, no matter where it is. Yes pap, we are not perfect -but in fairness we are a damn sight better than most places around the world when it comes to acceptance. Just because there are things we need to improve at home, doesn't mean we shouldn't look to improve the lives of others, and look to protect our brothers and sisters around the world when they are in danger.
-
Yeah, I quite like it. Hopefully the new album will be better than the second one. Glad they are back though, off to them at The Garage in Islington (great small venue) in a few months. Had the pleasure of meeting Pip on a couple of occasions, he is one of the nicest, sincerest, funny and interesting people you could hope to meet. They supported a friends band just before Thou Shalt Always Kill blew up - and they were just the best guys.
-
He said at the time, he wanted to play in the Premiership - and believed we were his best way to do that. Also worth remembering that Palace were about to go into admin. Or, what is you answer? For the money? But I thought you have spent the last few weeks telling us that Cortese won't open his wallet to convince players from the next level (Champ to L1 probably has to be considered next level)? Even though you repeatedly tell us all how Gaston only came here for the money we were paying him? Is that a massive flaw in your 'logic'?
-
Oops, sorry buddy. Anyways, gotten really back into Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip. Pip must be one of the most underrated rappers ever. Their first album Angles is full of bangers, but I do love this one:

What is the attaction in keeping a snake as a pet ?
KelvinsRightGlove replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Lounge
Blow me, I'm in complete agreement with alps. That said, I'm properly phobic petrified of snakes. So yeah, the thought of having one as a pet simply does not compute.
