Certainly not Alpine "we are run like a crappy seaside B&B" Saint.

I don't know how many times its going to take for this to sink in on here. It's not how much you spend, it's how well you spend it. One only needs to look at QPR to understand this.

I get your point. And if I was to have girls of my own I'm sure I'd be of the same point of view. However, I don't see the point in banning them, surely if you ban these you have to ban pornography also? I think you sometimes also have to question who it is that is really being exploited? A girl that shows up, flashes some skin and gets paid. Thousands of pounds for doing so? I know a couple of glamour models, that have been in these mags, and they can earn what I earn in a month in a week. Granted I'm not on great money, but I work 9-6 for that. Yes, it isn't exactly a shining beacon for female rights, or the greatest example to set, but I also don't see why girls that choose to go into this profession, and from the few I have met they actually really enjoy it, should be stopped because some people dislike it? I don't personally buy these magazines, but I do not think they should be banned.

Summer 2013 HCDAJFU / Transfer thread

For an overseas team it will do very little. However, the fact it is an overseas team doesn't mean he is worth any less to the selling club, so he would be at a similar price anyway. -
Why worry mate? He constantly predicts doom and despair, yet is consistently wrong. I kind of use it as an indicator of what is going to happen. If he says something will happen, it probably won't.

I thought you said I was lying when I said you had us going down in march?
-
Just seen they have spent £80m net in 5 years, this season they finished lower than their first season in the prem. That isn't great really.
-
Meh, good for the Prem. Awful football, awful tactics, nasty team (more Yellows & Reds than any other team this season). He's effectively the best sunday league manager ever. He's a miserable so and so, and I really hate his hat. Bye.

A) has no one noticed how often the daily mail have provocative articles on their website? Not just football related, but in general, often nasty opinion pieces from jan moir or whoever. Funny how it is also one of the most read online news sites in the world (wide web), meaning they can make massive bucks on ads. B) is this not about the third or fourth articles that fat idiot has written about Cortese in pretty similar tone. Agenda or not, and I don't think he is trying to destabilise us, I just think he dislikes NC. It's funny how he omits any of the achievements of spurs or saints under levy or Cortese, isn't it? I could be wrong on this,it's just a guess, but I would assume he was one of the media mugs howling for 'arry to get the England job 12 months ago. You know, a proper manager. He just smacks of being old fashioned and out of touch to me. Clearly has an opinion on NC and has written, yet another, one sided and pretty childish article about it.

Getting Our Business Done Early
KelvinsRightGlove replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
Obviously, in a perfect world all dealings would be done for the first day of pre-season. In the real world, these things take time, and often rely on a whole chain of other transfers, and with the increased money involved in transfers as we progress, there are more stakeholders to placate. Despite Alpines annual petulant strop, it's no coincidence that in every transfer window the busiest period is the last week. It's just how it works. I don't really get how people constantly knock our transfer dealings. Since the take over, we have started every season stronger than we ended the previous one. I hope we get it sorted soon, of course. But I would rather exercise some patience and get the right players in. This is going to be an exciting pre-season I think. Bring on the rumours. COYS -
Utterly ridiculous comment. I agree, not top 10/20 but defo 50. Smacks to me of someone bitter being bitter, possibly Waddle was a better player, but had far more success and far less adulation than Becks. He played for one of the best United teams (99) a very good Real Madrid team, and was the best passer and set piece taker for both. To say he wasn't a world class player is silly. So many try to belittle him as a footballer because of what else he became, also a mark of how intelligent the guy actually is.
-
Maybe you were just cooler
-
Where did I say that? I have said all season I believed we would stay up, all season I said I thought it would be a long hard slog, but since the WBA away defeat I think we have been a significantly better team, and from then I really haven't thought of us as being in real danger, certainly not the past few weeks when people were getting their pampers in a twist on here. I don't really see how me saying it's pointless re-writing history equates to me saying there was no need for extra quality or we were in danger of relegation?
-
When you start re-writing history like that it's pointless. If we hadn't conceded those two late RVP goals against Utd at SMS, if Lallana's goal against Swansea away hadn't been ruled out etc etc. It could go on forever either way.
-
Ridiculous, scandalous decision. Been to see Donny Belle's a few times - my family are from donny, and a family friend played for them. Such a strange decision. Obviously signed.
-
You're kind of showing how narrow-sighted you are again. Yes, we spent more on transfers than Everton last year. However, they were already an established Premiership team. They have had stability, and Moyes has been able(/required) to build a team built on stability, steadily adding one or two players to the side, whilst also having to sell to fund this. They were not a team hastily assembled in L1 on the back of administration, which was then promoted at the first attempt in the Championship.
-
Saints were playing Arsenal in the FA Cup Final in Cardiff. What a day that was, even if the result wasn't great. What a ride we have been on since.
-
So is Ramos a bad manager because Spurs started a season poorly and 'Arry got 'em back up the table?
-
So you judge his 3 and a half years at Espanyol based on his last two months?

In my lifetime (thus far obviously) he is by far the best England captain there has been. He dragged the team along by the scruff of the neck, carried them for about 5 years. I grew up idolising him, I'm genuinely gutted, feels like that last piece of my childhood has died. That said, I am 24, probably about time I let go. Sob.

Whatever b!tch.

Ron, as always, yes. Right now: [video=youtube;Py_-3di1yx0] Totally unashamed, I love Lana. Bring it haters.

If Jordan Henderson is worth £16m, Morgan has to be worth at least that. Streets ahead of him.
