Billy's been missed all season never mind Saturday. Still not convinced by Jayrod and IMO he's not fit to tie Billy's laces. Lee on the other hand? Let's just say we wouldn't miss him if he disappeared off the face of the earth...

Team playing well under Pochettino: MYTH

err, I was one of MP's biggest proponents in the first few weeks of his reign. Suddenly now I get this craving for attention??? Wake up and smell the coffee Dibden, our manager is clueless. And I could do without the attention, just can't do with seeing my beloved team given footballing lessons by mediocre sides week in week out. -

Still misinterpreting me Dig Dig: it's the performances not the results!!! You think I'm not happy with the three points against City despite it being a fluke? The guy can get us results all he likes that way (good luck to him with that) but the fact remains our performances have gone DOWN since Nigel left. We played better football under him. That is my point. Over time I think we can all agree playing better football is what brings results. -

Nothing extreme about this view mate. After Wigan and Newcastle (despite major inner anger) I bottled my frustration and let him off the hook. Now though I've had enough as he's clearly been found out by other managers, is proving to be a one-trick pony, and the City game after I got over the euphoria was actually a major fluke. This guy is inept. We may well stay up this season, but he's not the man to take us forward and I hope to God that Nicola has another rabbit to pull out of the hat in the summer. -

As for names there's Tigana, Van Marwijk, Curbishley, even Hoddle would of done better ffs. -

FFS we lost at home to the whipping boys and bottom team of the division. If that won't make you turn against the manager what will?!?!?!?! -
Watched bits and bobs of the Liverpool game tonight. Safe to say we won't be seeing Forren anywhere near the first team anytime soon...
-
Exactly like they did against us. And we beat them. City will win.

erm someone with premier league experience? Or just general football managerial experience for 15-20 years? And no way were the performances under Adkins comparable to MP's. Under Nigel we played FOOTBALL. Attractive, entertaining, attacking football. Under MP we just keep the ball more (in our half) and run around like headless chickens under the pretense of "pressing." Had Joe Hart not made a once in a lifetime error and Barry not score a once in a lifetime own goal we'd all be awake to how f**king inept and clueless this muppet really is. -
One thing's for certain, if we do stay up it'll be due to there thankfully being worse teams than us, somehow. But due to our own merit? Never in a million years.
-
Having said that he is a fantastic talent don't get me wrong! Just asking that we all cool down with the hype...
-
We tend to overrate him on here to be honest. Bit rubbish when he came on on Saturday.
-
Overtrained or undertrained doesn't make a difference when you haven't got a clue how to play football in a top-class league.
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again. This muppet of a manager is about as far away from a plan B as we are from being champions in the near future.
-
Trying to prove me wrong eh? Enough with the charade.
-
I meant Villa, QPR and the third between the remaining three. This is based on performances. Every time I've seen Villa this season they've been dire.

Weaker manager than squad though. -
Everything has a lifespan. Rest assured footie should last well beyond all our lifetimes though.

My Three-Pronged “Agenda”: 1) Be the Voice Of Reason. This forum has far too many extremes. On one end you have the blind optimists always in their rose-tinted glasses groundlessly convinced everything is OK, the team is doing well and we should all be happy. And on the other end is so-called ‘betwetters’ who, while may be correct in their presumption things are looking depressing, expound on the negativity and take joy in spreading the doom and gloom. Seemingly this gives them an impulsive rush and is the primary reason why they are here. I am not here to get a rush, nor do I aim to appease everybody’s worries by the same token. “Cheer up” and “look on the bright side” have their place in any forum, but when there is no basis upon which to predicate the positivity, you are doing fellow posters more harm than good. I am here to open people’s eyes to the real world, what is really going wrong, what needs to be fixed and propose viable solutions. Likewise, I am always happy to spread joy and cheer when I know it is genuine, since being happy and enjoying life is what football is all about. 2) Lose the Dell-Size Mentality. Our Dell days are over. So many posters on here seem to not realize that. And with those days went all other preconceived small-time ideas of what Southampton FC should be and strive for. I remain convinced that we are more than capable of doing an Everton or Tottenham within the next five years, or even less. The chairman has ambitions, the manager has ambitions, the players have ambitions, therefore the club has ambitions. Anybody who thinks we are doomed to fighting relegation season after season in the premier league, assuming we stay there, shall be shown no sympathy from me. We are a big club, by anyone’s standards. Solid financial backing, excellent stadium, wise board and management, experienced background staff, a strong core squad of premier league quality players and an academy to rival the best in the country, if not the world. Clubs in worse financial states and with fewer resources than us have achieved more on the pitch with the right philosophy. We can and will do the same, and have an exceptionally bright future. I am here to let fellow fans realize this and come to expect more, want more, hope for more, and dream bigger. 3) Promote Solidarity Amongst Forum Members. This may be a far-fetched idea based on the initial reception I got here, and the reputation that precedes me, but I remain steadfast to it. Petty arguments, temper tantrums, and meaningless, endless squabbles have no place in this forum of fans of this great club. We all love Southampton, we do. We all want the best for Southampton. We’re all Southampton fans til we die. The more we realize and appreciate this, the more we can have meaningful and productive discussion on what we can do together and how to best support our club. I am hoping to pull the strings between forum members, make well-intentioned folks feel appreciated, bad-intentioned folks feel vilified, and make everybody feel welcome. Be the mod amongst non-mods, if you like. Nobody would come here unless they really care for this club. Nobody should feel unwelcome. Nobody should be treated unfairly. I aim to make everybody’s contribution on here feel worthwhile. After all we are, in the words of a recent legend, ‘together as one’.

Villa are gone IMO. Between us, Wigan and Reading.

How long before we hear Sack The Manager
110_Persaint replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
Call me a troll all you like folks but the truth is this muppet hasn't got a clue what he's doing. With every subsequent game it's looking like the City win was a fluke. Had City decided to show up that evening we could well be looking at six games without a win and more people, in fact most people on here would be calling for his head. Even if I can make believe Adkins couldn't cut it in the prem, I can't for the life of me see what Nicola saw in this inept plank. -
IMO: 1) honest posters with usually great insight and a respectful demeanor: colinjb, s-clarke, charlie, dubai, chez, crab lungs, etc. 2) honest posters hated for their "negativity" when in fact they're only being realistic: alpine, miltonroader, dibden, dalek, etc. 3) posters who come here to mouth off about whatever tickles their fancy, usually like to pick arguments: dig dig, appy, garrett, badger, for_heaven's, supermikey, etc. 4) posters who come here to have fun, not too fussed about serious saints talk: bearsy, tokyo, glasgow, turkish, spud, etc. 5) those who think their opinion is of great importance and believe themselves untouchable: MLG, delldays, itchen_dan, Mr X, trousers, etc. 6) harmless posters who quietly give their opinion whilst passing under the radar: 70's_mike, ART, dr who, ottery, pingwing, whitey etc. 7) flat out trolls: sotonjoe, hypochondriac, vectis, flyer, toresf, etc.
