Express your feelings by all means, but the point is, why do it over and over and over and over and over again. I am not telling anyone how to support the team, just wondering what is the point when it all seems negative? Although I doubt that will stop you from being uppity.

So now can we drop all of the threads around this sort of debate and get behind the team/squad/manager we have? MP must be happy with what he has at his disposal or there would have been at the very least enquiries for other players, not to mention last minute panic buys. Most fans here would have been over the moon if, before the window opened, you would have offered them a world class forward, a quality centre half, that we have lacked since Svensson packed it in, and a solid centre mid that has shown to be capable of bossing Barcelona about. Add to that we have not lost any players poached by bigger clubs, snapping away our talent pool, only those MP didn't think improves the team. Now, it is probably too early to say after three games, but we look ok. Nothing to write home about - we are not better than Liverpool, Arsenal and the rest consistently yet, but that doesn't mean we can't beat them when we play them. And I don't see any reason to panic. But what do you want? We are not a club that has been in the top four for the last twenty years but don't seem to be able to win anything. We are Southampton. Not long ago we nearly didn't exist! How do some of the people on here get themselves up in the morning to go to St Mary's? Why not just sit at home and gripe. But when you do, stay away from your internet connection. You must be great fun sitting near if we aren't 3-0 up at half time. Saints first, Saints always!

a quiz question came up the other day. i am aware of it, and the answer for that matter, but i think it is wrong. if so, what is the correct answer? question was: which league team has played the most past present and future england captains at the same time? answer: saints, six captains, twice. players listed were; shilton, ball, channon, keegan, wright, mills and watson. six of them one game and then later in the year, a different combination. however, i think this is wrong. is it, and if it is, what is the answer?

to be honest, morgan, cork and the beetle (a name my six year old came up with, and i like it) are totally different players. GR or AL? at times last year both showed flahes but neither really produced. i like AL and want him to keep doing what he is good at and get back in the england set up with SRL, but at the end of the day both of them need to improve CONSISTENTLY. anyway, my point is, there is something there, but it needs to come out. get off his already, massively slated back. however, i don't know how long to give him before you have to say, cut your losses and get rid.

my only problem with ramirez is, i don't think we have seen his full potential. he still looks a quality player, and definitely wants to play for us. he could have gone last year, or in the transfer window again this summer. i know everyone has a player/players they don't personally like, but, feck me boys, get off his case every single game. what does he have to do to convince some of you? as the otter has stated, some of you want rid of lambo, and think £12 million and £8 million was far too much for VW and DL, but come on, they are class and WANT to play for US! get behind them. NC knows what he is doing when he cajoles these players - who could easily walk into CL teams - to come and ply their trade on the south coast!

agreed. we can quite happily look forward to beating any team this season, as we did last, but it is doing it consistently that will see if we can get anywhere close to the european places we all want to see.
