Really? €9 Euros? Buy him now!! If he doesn't match up to the price tag, sell him for a million and we've made a near million pound profit!

i also love the club. it is my team. i could not, and would not support any one else. i am not from southampton. i was born and bred in derby. i have never supported anyone else other than the saints. all my friends and family are rams. however i totally agree that whatever happens, you still support the club. any one who changes club, for whatever reason, should be banned from football grounds for life. i have been ridiculed and abused because of the stuff that goes on behind the scenes at the dell/st marys. but that never bothered me, the football did the talking. when we went down, i got more abuse. it never bothered me, i am a saint and i cannot change that. when we nearly went bust a few years back, i was asked who i would support if they did. no one. i would probably lose interest in football altogether. i am a saint. if they didn't exist, i couldn't get worked up about the league. i am not keen on things changing, but not many are, but if change means better - and there aren't many decisions NC has made to make us worse - then i say go for it. who cried when the candy stripes were introduced? or the plain red anniversary kit? or away kits going from yellow to blue to white to black? or when the badge first appeared? or when the badge changed in the mid 90's? we are the saints. let everyone else deal with that!

Don't worry. I know I'm stupid. Can't see the woods for the trees. Was trying too hard and missed the obvious. Sorry KK but you are dropped. And NC will now never ask my opinion on anything in future.

Does Jimmy Case count or was he too good a player? Really?

after starting the all time saint thread yesterday, it seems channon, mlt and lambo are the top three. (of those that replied). great to read so many names coming back, some forgotten, but obviously held dear. however, my son has now asked me to name my all time team. difficult for me, i only started following the saints in the early eighties, (not my fault, it's when i was old enough) so i am only putting in players i have seen play. i could make a different team up from ones before my time. so many could go in, knowing what they did, but that would be from videos, not my memories. here goes 4-4-2 ( the numbers will mean something to fans from before the prem/money/tv era) 1 Niemi 2 Dodd 3 Dennis 4 Case © 5 Svensson M 6 Wright 7 Keegan 8 Armstrong 9 Lambert 10 Moran 11 Wallace Dan Subs (only 5 allowed) Shilton Beattie Pahars Richards Cockerill

enough of the kit. it is what it is, so deal with it. Now, my son, a six year old Saint, after watching the last couple of seasons and a few of my old videos lying around,(saints ones, by the way), has decided his favourite player is rickie lambert. but he them threw me a curve ball and said his all time favourite is le tissier. he then asked me who my all time hero was and who did i think would be the most popular all time favourite of the fans. so here goes. after starting to support the saints in the rank xerox keegan era, with the array of talent there, it still falls to the honourable jimmy case to be the first name i would ink in on my saints team sheet. anyone else care to help out my son?

what is wrong with you lot? give yourselves a break and stop bickering amongst each other. unless of course, you actually KNOW who batman is, then, carry on. but seriously, everyone has an opinion, not everyone's is as good as the one we hold dear. let them get on with it without being so touchy. just point out "bol locks" or something, and carry on. no need to reply to that! deal with it, i don't know any of your real id's, but i'm guessing you are grown ups. -
i am torn. i don't like the fact we are not in stripes, we are stripes after all, but then again, i liked the 100 year anniversary kit, the bacon rasher of colin clarke et al, and the 125 year kit! there were some boring stripey versions recently, (flybe with black thick stripes down arm, for one), so i am holding out until i see it on. probably on my son as he will want one. anyway, look at nigel adkins. no one wanted him gone, but everyone has dealt with it. the king is dead, long live the king. stripes will return!
-
All i want, and most fans, (even those who are mentally stumped and don't support the saints) is a return to stripes. why did we have the awful plain red? yes i agree, you can't stop people from buying it, but how was it the best selling shirt of all time, when most people don't really like it? you will get some who will never buy a shirt, others who buy every kit produced, but who were the ones who thought this one was a nice saints kit, and bought it as a one off?

There doesn't seem to be too many Irish Saints here, so I'll help out a little bit. (although i'm not really irish) Born in Derby. 38 years old. every single year i have took abuse from all my mates, many of whom support the rams. I think, and i say think because i was only 6, i started to support the saints because they had a stand out kit when every one else had plain red, blue, white or whatever. It was Keegan's Saints, but my favourite of the rank xerox crew was David Armstrong. Living in Derby I could never get to a game on my own, but i remember visiting the squad training one year when holidaying on the Isle of Wight, just after Keegan had left. Big Mac was furious. Photos of me taking penalties at Shilton still held dear! First home game opening game of 89 - 90 season, losing 2-1 to Millwall Ruddock scoring against old club First away game stoke 84 drew 1-1 now living in ireland for a good few years where many of the locals support utd or pool, if not the two glasgow giants, i am proud to say my son is also a saints fan. i never made him, he just wasn't shown many other options! he will be going to his first game this year, his birthday is in october so hoping to get to a home game then. it will be my first trip back to St Marys since the 4-0 demolition of spurs in the magical cup run.

shay given, sort out the gk 'crisis' with kd as back up. also we need a goal scorer. if lambert gets done in, where do we get the goals from. not just scoring, but creation, lay offs, etc. jrod not doing it. -
not a bangwagon jumper, it's something i always have thought. he was good in the third division, ok in the championship, but not a premier league player. i won't question his work rate, but his ability is not where you want it to be. look through all the threads, everyone knows we don't have enough quality players in depth, it's just unfortunate, he is one that seems to get playing when i think there are other options.

what is the surprise? MP played NA's team because he's only been there 3 days. same style and shape, the only difference is there seemed to be a higher level of intensity to the first half as the 'new manager' syndrome kicks in. was never sure about boruc, but he did well. yoshida is getting better, but does forren walk into team? guly has been shown as nowhere near a prem player but put in a bit of effort last night. still not good enough. morgan amazing and getting better all the time, surprised he isn't talked about more. ramirez is not justifying £12 million, nowhere near. cork below par but been very consistant. need someone to help score goals, Jrod not good enough. let's see who MP turns out from the transfer window and into the team.
