  1. Fucking washout, major disappointment.
  2. Whch is what is supposed to happen, and if it doesn't then the fault lies directly with the election officials.
  3. I have already committed my investment money to a Nigerian Prince.
  4. Given the size of the winning majority, and low number of votes nvolved in the allegations, I don't think the result was in any way impacted, so I would not think so.
  5. I think it's best to resist too much speculation and hype, let the dust settle and wait for the inevitable inquiry which all political parties seem to be demanding. I agree with others that is difficult to see what the Observers have to gain from concocting misrepresentations, but the ramifications of a cover-up by the Council could be seismic.
  6. The officials are employees of the Council, and are duty bound by Law to report and act on such allegations.
  7. Which Manchester Council ( currently ) say did not happen.
  8. You missed out the bit that says they claim it iwas observed in 15 of the 22 polling stations they attended, out of 45 in the constituency. If you see people breaking the Law and there is a Police officer nearby do you report it him, or the election officials in the polling station, or do you wait until hours later you can post it on Social Media ?
  9. Claims that it was observed in 15 out of the 45 polling stations. The Acting Returning Officer's office said ; "Polling station staff are trained to look out for any evidence of undue influence on voters. No such issues have been reported today. If Democracy Volunteers were so concerned about alleged issues they could and should have raised them with us during polling hours so that immediate action could be taken. We have operated a central by-election hub which has been rapidly responding to reported issues during the day, in liaison with the police - who had a presence at every polling station - where necessary. It is extremely disappointing that Democracy Volunteers have waited until after polls have closed to make such claims.""
  10. They are saying that they "observed" it.
  11. I got told I was a "traitor to your class" because I got promoted to a managerial position.
  12. But how could they have reported it taking place ?
  13. If the Democracy Volunteers observers in the polling stations see what they think is 'family voting' taking place, why don"t they report it there and then ? After all, it is criminal activity, and most polling stations have a Police officer present as well as the electoral officials.
  14. "USA men's ice hockey player Brady Tkachuk has distanced himself from an AI-enhanced White House video in which he appears to disparage Canadians, saying "those words would never come out of my mouth". The video was published on the official White House TikTok account after the US beat Canada on Sunday to win gold at the Winter Olympics and is marked as using artificial intelligence. It features a modified clip of Tkachuk speaking at a news conference for last year's 4 Nations Face-Off, during which Canadians booed the US national anthem. Tkachuk appears to say: "They booed our national anthem, so I had to come out and teach those maple-syrup-eating [expletive] a lesson. Canada, we own you little bro." Tkachuk is captain of the Ottawa Senators and after playing in the Canadian team's first NHL game since the Olympics, he said: "Well, it's clearly fake, because it's not my voice, not my lips moving. "I'm not in control of any of those accounts," he added. "I know that those words would never come out of my mouth, so I can't do anything about it. "It's not what I was saying. I would never say that. It's not who I am. So I guess I don't like that video."" https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/ice-hockey/articles/cqj9w4xz1l0o
  15. Is it any different to "My granddad voted Labour, my dad voted Labour, I was brought up Labour so I vote Labour, and I'm Labour 'til I die" ?
  16. The Green party unveil their new look
  17. Plus, the sitting Governmrnt often gets a pasting in by-elections. It's tradition.
  18. How would those election observers who have made the allegations know, if the influence was exerted in the family home ? The claim is that people were being accompanied to the voting booth, which is illegal - and the officers at the polling station would be duty bound to stop it, and inform the Police officer stationed there.
  19. History is littered with "shock" by-election results that ended up signifying little more than the electorate playing games before reverting to type in the next GE.
  20. The chief election official has said that family voting was not an issue.
  21. Commenting on that atrocious QPR kit, maybe they had a better alternative option. I'm not sure, but I'm fairly certain they have some sort of blue and white hoop kit available to them.
  22. Start strong, get the game won, then use second half subs to "rest" players.
  23. Labour should have selected Burnham, but I suppose the risk of losing one seat weighed less than keeping AB out. In general, by-elections do throw up weird results.
