  1. The UK's no-deal Brexit contingency plan is code-named Operation YellowHammer. The Yellow Hammer is a small bird, whose call is often described as sounding like "A little bit of bread and no cheese". Prophetic ?
  2. I wouldn't describe it as 'mostly', it was 'overwhelmingly' rejected, twice.
  3. No, the Speaker's ruling refers to the content of the WA, which would be presented in exactly the same form as the last vote. I think that a revocation of A50 is fast becoming the outcome of last resort, and then the Magic Roundabout can start all over again.
  4. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47622721 "Boeing's Dennis Muilenburg, who is the chairman, president and chief executive of the company, said in an open letter: "Soon we'll release a software update and related pilot training for the 737 Max that will address concerns discovered in the aftermath of the Lion Air Flight 610 accident."" "There will also be changes to the cockpit warning systems, the flight crew operating manual will be updated and there will be computer-based training for pilots."
  5. "Sri Lanka opener Dimuth Karunaratne may not join Hampshire as their overseas player, while selectors consider him as a potential World Cup captain. .... Karunaratne has been asked to stay in Sri Lanka during April and play in their domestic 50-over competition before the World Cup begins in May." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/47625896
  6. LOL at the Tory MPs who have voted twice to veto May's deal, but are complaining that the Speaker's decision on a 3rd vote means that they now can't change their minds and vote in favour of something they have consistently rejected.
  7. So why might May's deal get another airing ?
  8. Which is why we won't get a 2nd referendum, yet May's failed 'deal' will get a 3rd chance, despite losing twice to 2 of the 4 heaviest Commons defeats ever recorded. That is what has been widely reported. ( eg The Metro and C4 News )
  9. I am not sure that many will view Carrillo as an 'investment'.
  10. We won't have that many negotiated by the end of the WA, at the rate the DTI is currently managing.
  11. So technically, ( legally ), at the moment we 'crash out' of the EU at 23:00 on 29th March, as no alternative position has been agreed.
  12. But the Director General of the CBI says "These are being imposed on this country with no consultation with business with no time to prepare. This is no way to run a country,"
  13. But how far can A50 be extended before we run into having to possibly have European Elections at the end of May ? ( "end of May", we can but hope ).
  14. But what happens if the EU don't want the terms that are beneficial to the UK, because they are not beneficial to the EU ? Doesn't the process of negotiation often involve compromise ?
  15. We cannot slacken, we are still in the position of controlling our own destiny, and beating Brighton would ensure that they are kept down in the maelstrom. Also, the players need to keep building confidence and self-belief.
  16. I think the first was when Armstrong (?) was through the centre and got tripped, the second was Sissoko aiming his head at Redmond.
  17. So people voted 'out' for "better or worse" ? I thought it was for the promise of the Land of Milk and Honey.
  18. So, have you watched the interview ? I repeat the question - How long, in your estimation, is the 'very long time' that we will have to wait to find out 'the full economic consequences' and if we will be 'better or worse' ? ( And it's Morecambe )
  19. So paraphrasing "...I may not know for years to come whether it has been better or worse...We won't know the full economic consequences for a very long time,...over the next 50 years." into "it could take up to 50 years" equates to complete misrepresentation ? How long, in your estimation, is the 'very long time' that we will have to wait to find out 'the full economic consequences" and if we will be better or worse ?
  20. Is the Channel 4 news clip faked then ? Have you even bothered to watch it ?
  21. My 'chosen route' is the horse's mouth, via Youtube; "...I may not know for years to come whether it has been better or worse...We won't know the full economic consequences for a very long time,....The overwhelming opportunity for Brexit is over the next 50 years."
  22. Not necessarily, after all JRM said it could take up to 50 years to know IF Brexit was a good idea.
  23. According to the Guardian report, part of the money paid as 'bailouts' to the companies running the privatised service was given to enable them to pay the fines imposed on them by the MoJ for failing to meet their 'payment by results' targets.
  24. https://www.politicshome.com/news/uk/foreign-affairs/brexit/news/102170/civil-service-chief-confirms-tv-adverts-urging-businesses "TV advertisements urging businesses and the public to prepare for a no-deal Brexit are to be aired ahead of the UK's exit from the EU, the head of Britain's civil service has said."
