  1. I suppose that as far as RH is concerned Bertie returning to the team would be the same as getting a new player in. Whilst there are obvious concerns over the experience of the available wing backs, RH seems happy, so we have to respect that. I do have a worry about how reliant we are likely to be on Ings and Redmond staying fit.

  3. Question - if the news articles state that the number of people working on the EU funds in Dublin is to "double" to 300, does that not imply that 150 jobs are affected by the change ? Given the numbers working in the City, 150 probably amounts to "a few". But you are never one to miss an opportunity to fire off a new verbal attack before the rational part of your brain has engaged.
  4. GM, if the transfer of Barclays assets was solely from EU branches to Dublin, why do you think the High Court of the UK had to approve ? The reality is that the 'front office' functions are run in branches across the EU, whilst the 'back office' function was managed in the UK. It is this back office activity that is being transferred.
  5. Our plan was to overload down the left, pulling all the defenders across to that side of the pitch, hoping they would forget he was there and then he could run into their area completely unnoticed, due to blending in with the crowd, to score our equaliser.
  6. No, I would pay what we are legally required to. ( But for preference I wouldn't be leaving in the first place ). "Traitorous quisling" ? We haven't been invaded and defeated by an enemy army, so how can I be colluding with an occupying oppressor ? I think if I was to assume your persona for a moment, I would retort with 'blinkered braggart', but I don't think that throwing insults around helps the debate, for either side, so I'll just follow the 'Sticks and stones.." approach, and thank goodness that the nearest I shall probably ever get to you is this forum.
  7. To paraphrase Mandy Rice-Davies - "They would say that, wouldn't they". I would hardly expect the Telegraph to go against the Eurosceptic mantra.
  8. Has yet to get a first one.

  10. There is an alternative view of Article 24, where it is not the panacea some claim it to be ; https://tradebetablog.wordpress.com/2018/12/27/myth-of-10-year-grace-period/ https://www.reuters.com/article/us-britain-eu-wto/trade-experts-dismiss-brexiteers-faith-in-obscure-wto-clause-idUSKCN1PH24V " “It’s amazing how this awful misinterpretation of Art XXIV GATT won’t die, no matter how many times I point this out,” Lorand Bartels, reader in international law at the University of Cambridge, tweeted in May last year. 11. Which is there because their slaughtering process is less hygenic than under EU regulations.
  12. Rees-Mogg: “We will know at some point, of course we will. But it’s a question of timescale.” Guru-Murthy: “So how long have you got?” Rees-Mogg: “We won’t know the full economic consequences for a very long time, we really won’t.” Guru-Murthy: “Of course not, but I mean we’ll have an indication. We’ll know if there’s been chaos, we’ll know if there have been job losses.” Rees-Mogg: “The overwhelming opportunity for Brexit is over the next 50 years.”
  13. Hang on, didn't JRM say that it could be up to 50 years before we knew if Brexit was a success ?
  14. Why do you exhibit such a bitter persona on this thread ?
  15. They don't exist, the vote was simply asking Tessie to go away and come back with a solution that is not the 'backstop'.
  16. Smashing what, the country ?
  17. Statistically it might actually be Shane's goal for this manager.
  18. The problem is that's Shane's goal for the season. ( Although without Schmeichel's help it would have gone wide ).
  19. Here's a real 'out of left field' idea - let's have a vote.
  20. We do not have uncontrolled immigration. The EU might have an issue currently with the volume of migrants crossing from Africa and the Middle East, but the UK has control, ( however poorly the Home Office chooses to implement it ).
  21. Those same 'allies' that have, or are negotiating, comprehensive trade agreements with the 'busted flush' ?
  22. Have those German car manufacturers battered their Chancellor's front door down yet ?
  23. Just looked it up, did they intend to make it the most complicated league in the world ?
