  1. In WW2, the US only jumped in after Pearl Harbour, and would have preferred to concentrate on the Pacific Theatre, but Adolf Hitler decided to actually declare war on them, and that helped Churchill persuade the US President that Europe would take priority. By the time the Japaneses attacked Hawaii our other 'friend' in adversity, the USSR, had already been fighting our cause for 6 months. Perhaps we should remember them ? The US in only going to act in it's own best interest, so how are we going to match up ? Any negotiations won't be from a position of equal strength.
  2. It''s amazing how often a Chelsea player seem to accidentally stamp on a Southampton Player's foot 'in his stride'.

  8. Didn't he say that the Irish Government were not planning for a hard border, as in that case it would become a self-fulfilling prophesy ? Has he not also said that in the case of a 'no deal' Brexit, a hard border was inevitable ? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/dec/21/ireland-has-no-plans-in-place-for-hard-border-after-brexit-varadkar https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/leo-varadkar-hard-border-very-likely-with-no-deal-brexit-h5v6w2w5p
  9. They probably aren't a 'great presence in the scheme of things', but they help to swell the numbers of your 92% of businesses. When, ( if ), we leave the EU, they won't be trading within any of our new trade agreements either, but will probably be bound by any UK legislative changes brought in to satisfy these agreements.
  10. No, they only have to comply with the rules that affect them. And amongst your 92% of businesses, how many are people selling trinkets on EBay, or running stalls at car boot sales ?
  11. 44% of exports and 53% of imports.
  12. So, we jump off the cliff, then having hit, ( crashed into ? ), the shingle at the bottom we start to work out how far back up we want to climb ?
  13. LOSING faith ? It's been a cast iron certainty that those in charge haven't had a scooby, since Cameron tabled the proposal for the referendum in the first place.
  14. More Project Fear fairy tales from a biased source. ( Did I get that right Wes ? ).
  15. The last 2 could do worse.
  16. Les's legacy.
  17. I think our best bet for the rest of the season is to throw the FA Cup game and get the extra couple of weekends free for RH to work with the squad.
  18. Is that 2 wins at home in 2018 ?
  19. Doesn't matter, I don't think there will be much movement in or out in January.
  20. Might not be come June.
  21. Or a team of highly rated international superstars playing a team with a back 5 of Targett, Bednarek, Stephens, Valery, and Ramsey.
  22. Obvious ref bias is shown there.
  23. Probably won't, the VAR official has to find clear and decisive evidence of an incorrect decision. It'll be another human opinion.
