  1. It does not matter who managed the contracts, Labour, Tory, LibDem, or Martian. If the cladding does not meet the appropriate safety standards, either somebody knew and hid the information, or the testing and monitoring system was a sham. Either way, this could blow up and shame the entire Political elite.
  2. If you were from pompey he'd also be your dad.
  3. He hasn't changed his opinion from post #1.
  4. Would that be the crooks who supplied and installed cladding and insulation which is failing ALL safety tests it is being subjected to? 'Det Supt McCormack says the tests carried out on the cladding and insulation were "small scale" but added: "All I can say at the moment is they [the tiles and insulation] don't pass any safety tests."' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-40380584
  5. I'm in the middle of reading "Taking Le Tiss", and loved MLT's comment on Glenda; given Hoddle's views on reincarnation, LeGod wonders what he'd done worng in a previous existence to have got him as manager twice, and hoping that he'd enjoyed it.
  6. Well she is German.
  7. Forecast for the morning suggests overcast and humid, so put money on an inning defeat by lunchtime. The only saving grace for me is that being Lancs v Hants this is my 'cannot lose' game.
  8. Yes. ( Or as Batman, ours not Gotham's, would say "It's all kicking off....." )
  9. If the game is capped at 60 minutes 'playing time' then football matches will be shorter than rugby games.
  10. Is he the one to get us back on track for Europe ?
  11. The BBC have reported that the DCLG have issued a statement saying that if the cladding had a plastic core then it WOULD NOT meet Building Regs.
  12. The building had a history of electrical issues, including power surges that caused domestic appliances to fail.
  13. Presumably the same holds true for the Tories.
  14. If Labour were in Government and running the local council, the Tories would be trying to score exactly the same points.
  15. But you can swing that argument for any of the member countries, unless you are saying that the other 27 have always voted en bloc against the UK. As for last week's election, the majority of MPs were not voted for by me, and therefore probably don't have my best interests at heart. That's the way democracy works - until I get to establish myself as benevolent dictator.
  16. [Holds up right hand...] "Please sir, can I answer ? Please, please !...Is it, er, none ? "
  17. Are they as many as the Tory remainers ?
  18. Meanwhile, Nicola Murray prays that Malcolm Tucker will find a way to get her out of her latest foul-up
  19. The clearest argument yet against a burkha ban -
  20. You really should try vetting your thoughts before posting; the incident in Amsterdam was a car crash caused by the driver being taken ill at the wheel.
  21. Labour win Kensington !!!
  22. Is English comprehension that difficult ?
  23. So we now have a junior partner in Government whose members believe that the Pope is the antichrist, that homosexuality is worse than child abuse, and that the world is 6000 years old. This is going to be a fun ride.
