  6. field ( I reckon this is the 3rd time this combination has appeared on this thread )
  7. Most pundits I've heard have said Saints should have had 2 pens in the first half.
  8. So, US toddlers aged under 4 are shooting people at a faster rate than the armed gangs in Manchester.

  10. I once got tailed over Salisbury Plain by 2 A-10 Warthogs. There's a local pilot round here who flies a Bell UH-01 Huey helicopter, theres no mistaking that when it's airborne.
  11. My youngest, ( now 22 ), went to Lancaster Grammar. His junior school worked with those pupils intending to try for the Grammars, ( both the boy's and girl's schools ), to prepare them for the entrance tests. We didn't pay anything additional for preparation, and we are convinced that he got a much better education, both socially and academically, at LRGS as compared to the local High School. Our regret is that we didn't push our other 2 children to do the same, although both did go to University.

  14. Well, somebody has to buck the trend - I will vote "In". I'm happy that we're not in Schengen, and we must definitely stay clear of fiscal union, but for all it's faults I simply feel we're better in than out.
  15. Behind Donald Trump - now I think we have found the real answer to the question posed by this thread's title, that these are the sort of people that are put forward to be President.

  17. We're also told by Georgie Porgie that debt is bad.
  18. According to the local rags here in Lancashire, his father is from Preston, and from this he got a British passport - he was apparently born in California. ( Although the Daily Mail claims to have interviewed a step-sister who said he was born in Preston there doesn't yet seem to have been anything else that coroborates that ).
  19. This is probably true, but when the Prime Minister stands up in front of live TV cameras from across the world and states that the leader of the Labour Party 'hates Britain', how is he expecting people to react to it ?
  20. The Tory conference is about providing sound bites for the Mail & Express, and those that believe their strident headlines represent facts.
  21. It's not a hood, just a hat with 'D' printed on it, and he only has to wear it when teacher makes him stand in the corner.

  23. However many times Tony Parsons states that "11 million voted Conservative" to justify his article, he misses the point that nearly 20 million of those who voted didn't vore tory.
  24. I thought it might make for an interesting discussion. If you want to know my personal opinion; at best it simply shows that the left wing of politics doen't have a monopoly on 'loonies', at worst it shows how dangerous and spiteful zealots might be feeding ideas into real policy - not that Ian Duncan Smith really needs any help. Is that OK for you ?
  25. Ministers should waste no time to make unpopular cuts to pensioner benefits, a think tank director has said. Many of those hit by a cut to the winter fuel allowance might "not be around" at the next election, said Alex Wild of the Taxpayers' Alliance. And others would forget which party had done it, he added. "The first of which will sound a little bit morbid - some of the people... won't be around to vote against you in the next election. So that's just a practical point, and the other point is they might have forgotten by then." He added: "If you did it now, chances are that in 2020 someone who has had their winter fuel cut might be thinking, 'Oh I can't remember, was it this government or was it the last one? I'm not quite sure." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34439965
