Do you think that sort of magic will work on Mayuka ?
  2. Nelson
  3. Earring
  4. There is when so many jobs are part time or minimum wage, and therefore continue to place demand on the welfare systems without contributing to the Revenue. Whoever heads up the Exchequer after May needs to find a way of building up the receipting side to balance cuts to the debiting ledger.
  5. Which part of the 'bloated' state would you cut back, and how far ? Public Pensions £150 billion National Health Care + £133 billion State Education + £90 billion Defence + £46 billion Social Security + £110 billion State Protection + £30 billion Transport + £20 billion General Government + £14 billion Other Public Services + £86 billion Public Sector Interest + £52 billion Total Spending = £731 billion
  6. Or "Politician speaking the blindingly obvious".
  7. RIP A classic example of a cover version proving superior to the original : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRzKUVjHkGk Joe Cocker was first act on the Sunday afternoon at Woodstock, and performed for an hour and a half, delivering this song as his encore. Within minutes of him finishing a thunderstorm drenched everyone and everything, delaying the show for about 3 hours.
  8. Ditto, but so did my Villa supporting son. 'Luton Stadium' on an advertsing board also helped with the Kenilworth Road picture.
  9. The local paper have stopped KOKO's weekly column. "We await his explanation on this matter with interest, but are there really any words that can in anyway defend such a deeply insulting series of comments?Of course there are not." http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/blackpool-fc/gazette-comment-more-shame-on-blackpool-fc-1-7016260
  10. They don't sleep, they just need an occasional recharge.
  11. The promotion to the PL was a huge unexpected windfall for the Oystons; Holloway was only supposed to provide 'mid table mediocrity', but with 6 wins in their last 8 league games they pipped Swansea for the last play-off position by a point. In the close season they spent the square root of sod all, and eventually reaped the reward of the lack of investment on the final day of the 2010-11 season. As for the ground, the redevelopment officially started in June 2000 when the Kop End, ( north stand ), was demolished, the west stand was finished in 2002, and it then took 7 years to get from pulliing down the south stand to topping out it's replacement in 2010. At that rate it'll be at least 2018 before the eastern side is rebuilt.
  12. KOKO is a clueless ***t, who is only where he is as a front for his dad ( who cannot front the club himself on the grounds of being a convicted sex offender -as it clearly states on the walls of KOKO's former school ). Unfortunately for Seasiders fans, the Oyscum, ( as they are colloquially known ), could put limpets to shame with their tenacity, and similarly leeches for their ability to bleed something dry. ( Try to follow the Premier League money and parachute payments around the accounts of the web of interlocking Osyton companies: eg(1) a ( perfectly legal ) unsecured and interest free loan of £11.5 million to Segesta Limited ( BFC's holding company - which now 'owes' BFC approx £24 million ) eg(2) £11 million paid in the Premier League season to Zabaxe Limited - wholly owned by Owen Oyston and his wife - for 'consultancy' This sum far exceeds the salary total for the first team squad and manager for that season ). It is widely hoped around here that the FL will use the same balls they have used against Dave Whelan, and will find a 'proper' sanction against 'the Klown'.
  13. Nice to see RK willing to play with the formation when necessary, it seems he at least is capable of a 'plan B'.
  14. It seems to crop up every time a team loses, there is no right of expectation of a particular outcome when you buy a ticket for a sporting event.
  15. Draw, win, lose, draw.
  16. I seem to remember a couple when I was very young, ( early 60's ).
  17. As long as the power hungry sociopathic criminals who head these 'terrorist' organisations can persuade gullible fools that blowing up 'infidels' and apostates will grant them an eternal place in Paradise, this will continue.
  18. Nothing I have seen of him in a Saints shirt has altered the opinion of him that I held before we bought him - a limited player who's work rate far exceeds his technical ability. ( The sort of player who, when in the opposition team, is always likely to score against us, despite his limitations ).
  19. The way things are going, one of the proposed starting 11 will do a hamstring in the pre-match warmup.

    Mane

Get rid - he loses the ball too easily, goes to ground rather than taking on defenders, can't shoot or cross for toffee, and is a liability defending.
  21. We PAID for Long and Mane - any price was 'over'.
  22. Any chance of offloading Mane in the window ?
  23. Living in Lancashire, local radio gives you a different perspective on 'regional' football to that you might get with Solent ;-)
  24. Playing for Blackburn in 1960.
