  1. It's not a case of 'talking him up'. He IS temporarily our first choice keeper, if this causes people to suffer fits of apoplexy then they should direct their bile at the manager who has failed to address this apparent weakness in our squad. If you are looking for a 'worse' example in the EPL then logically you need to assess each team's 3rd choice option - I'm not sure I could name any of them, let alone give an informed opinion on their playing ability.
  2. My argument is not affected by the results of those 2 games - he is NOT Wessex League standard, FACT; he is much better than that, though possibly not yet of a level that would make him a #2 in the EPL, but he's only #3 on our squad list. Why the f()ck do so called 'fans' of this club have to turn of him when the fact that he is playing, regardless of what you think of his ability, is not his fault. If it's a mistake to select him, slate the manager. And just to give you the chance - which of the goals in the 2 games you have mentioned are ENTIRELY down to Gazza, and not due to poor defending in front of him ?
  3. No he isn't, No he isn't. If either of these statements were true, how come we have only conceded 2 goals in the last 2 games, neither of which could be claimed to directly be his fault ?
  4. But apparently it's different if they are keepers.
  5. Well, he's almost certainly starting against Spuds.
  6. So why did NA buy him, and why hasn't MP got rid or bought in somebody else ?
  7. Well, 2 Premier League managers ( one an ex keeper ), decided that he should stay at Saints.
  8. As with the high take when he knew he would get clattered late in the second half - the one where the ref got floored.
  9. Any player can mis-kick - if it's a striker everybody laughs it off, if it's a young keeper they crucify him.
  10. Sensible post. ( Out of place on this Forum though )
  11. All these 'cup finals' coming one after the other, it's really putting pressure on their squad.
  12. You've gone waaaay off message with that opinion !
  13. So, that's home against the champions, ( who've just put 6 past Arsenal ), and away at Newcastle - both with Gazza in goal, and we only conceded 1 in each match. No exactly a disaster.
  14. Brave claim by Gazza.
  15. Anybody got a decent stream ?
  16. Why is this an indictment of Saints fans - do you not think fans of other clubs do this ? Streams haven't taken me away from games - generally I am out and about until after Saturday lunchtime, so it's too late to start travelling nearly 250 miles to a home game. I do go to some away games, those within reasonable distance. If there wasn't a stream I'd listen to R5, but I will not donate a single penny to any company run by the Murdochs, nor submit to BT's bid to take over all televisual broadcast sports. Streams enable long distance and overseas fans to see much much more of their team than MOTD might deign to show.

  18. No you've all got it wrong, he was really a visiting chiropodist - William the Corn-Curer.
  19. Signed
  20. Just imagine you're in a Sherman knowing your shells will simply bounce off the Tiger, and that bloody great cannon is trying to locate you.
  21. That WAS a public holiday up to 1859.
  22. Who was it who said the other day that they preferred to use the EuroStar when all the French passengers coming here had to disembark at Waterloo.
  23. Liberated by whom ? The descendents of the Normans still provide the bulk of the upper class. And the Angles were just another bunch of incomers, anyway.
  24. PS - Bazza : I know that you work tirelessly to disprove the possibility of a connection between you, but this thread is typical of the sort of thing old Dunce would start.
  25. Of course, when the World Cup starts, absolutely nobody will be attaching a St George's flag to their car, hanging the free give away from the Sun on their bedroom wall, or going to the pub to watch the match with a red cross painted on their face. We can get as Nationalistic as anybody else, when we need to.
