  1. Isn't that Redkrapp's usual opening gambit at a new club - "Just look at this squad, they're rubbish"

    Lambert

To do that on top of the managerial change would probably see NC waking up next to a horse's head.
  3. Well Lawrenson's quotes are condescending at the least. For 'experts' you can lump in all of those who now hope that Saints will be relegated, and that seems to include many on here after reading some of the guff that was spouted in the 24 hours following the managerial change. Yes Nigel Adkins is a nice bloke and the team seemed to have turned the corner, yes MP is an unknown in the EPL, and NC does come over as a complete ****, but I'll say it again - our opinions count for jack sh!t, only Nicola's bears any weight, and he sees this as improvement. It's not the players' fault - so talking of protesting and potentially disrupting Monday's game is counter productive. All we can do is take a lesson from the great NA - draw a blue line under this event and move on. Football, especially in the EPL, is not what it was 40+ years ago when I first walked into The Dell, SKY has seen to that. But regardless of the commercialisation and p!ssing about with kick off times, I want MY TEAM to win every game. This is my opinion and you are entitled to hold an alternative view.
  4. So many 'experts' writing MP off before a ball has been kicked. NC sees this as progress and improvement, at the moment his is the only opinion that counts.
  5. So you've written off MP before a ball has been kicked ?
  6. Next 3 games : away @ WBA in half an hour, home v Newcastle, away @ Everton.
  7. Based on what ? Exactly, absolutely no reason to think we can't win on Monday evening.
  8. I think that he had no choice as it seems the board sold anybody worth a fee.
  9. No - I saw what Saggy Chops did when he was here previously, and I'm quite happy to give the new guy a chance.
  10. Nikola Kortezie Vnutrennikh Del ?
  11. As if it's going to change anything - SFC is not a democracy.
  12. If Pochettino has really been 'scouting' Saints since November then he will have seen plenty of games, plus they will all be available to him on DVD, so he shouldn't have a problem knowing which players to pick, and the tactical setup we have used seems to match his preference, so in reality it will all be down to motivation and players' attitude- and ultimately they all almost all mercenaries, and changing managers is something many of them would have previously experienced. Pre-match speech - "Win it for Nigel". 3-1 Saints, provided the '12th man' realise that they need to back the team more than they protest against NC..
  13. I'll reserve judgement until 22:00 on Monday.
  14. However you feel, protesting won't change things, and a sh!tty atmosphere may well affect the team - those who prophesy relegation may well precipitate the event. Many of us are questioning NC's decision, but he did introduce the club to ML, and then appointed Nigel - decisions that got us where we are today. Much as this is a puzzling situation, if we want the team to survive and progress they need to be supported, and so does the new manager - there is f*** all chance of shifting NC, and no chance of getting this move reversed.
  15. I'll keep an eye out to see if he comes calling on Karl - what does he drive ?
  16. OK, I've had my rant, there's nothing I can do to change it, and there are still 16 games to go. So Monday night it's 3 points against Everton and the next chapter begins. This decision will define NC's status and future at the club.
  17. All we need now is the announcement that the PST have taken control of the skates, that Chinny has been forced to settle for £2Mill, and the -10 will not be enforced.
  18. Absolute bloody madness. Wherever you end up Nige, best wishes and be assured that the majority of the fans most certainly did not want this.
  19. Villa's next 3 league games : away @ WBA, home to Newcastle, and away @ Everton - they have to get 4 more points than Saints get at home v Everton & away @ Wigan, ( writing off the trip to OT ). Reading would have to get 6 more than us against Newcastle (a), Chelsea (h), and Sunderland (h). So, probably not.
  20. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/police-launch-criminal-investigation-into-mps-child-sex-ring-8456434.html " Scotland Yard tonight launched a full investigation into allegations that Conservative politicians were members of a paedophile ring which abused children in care the 1980s. Operation Fernbridge will centre on the alleged historic sexual abuse of children at Elm Guest House, in Rocks Lane, a suburban street in Barnes, south-west London. Residents of a nearby care home run by Richmond Council claim they were sexually assaulted at the property by a network of prominent individuals, including Tory MPs, who used their connections to escape justice."
  21. WHU also have to host Man U and visit Man C.
  22. I was waiting at the enquiry counter in a Police station in Cheshire when a chap came in with a rifle and 2 pistols, all in carrying cases. He stated to the desk officer that he was handing them in for destruction as 'I don't need to keep them under the bed any more, I'm getting a divorce'.
  23. When people post about needing 'Premier League experience' on the pitch, you have to remember that Nige is very much learning as he goes along. He didn't have any such when the season started either, and despite the horrendous run of games to start with he set his stall out to play 'proper' football, and didn't feel the need to panic and change things because he saw enough positives in the performances against the 'big' clubs, despite the results. What we now have is a squad with half a season of the necessary experience, and playing with the confidence that they really can cut it against the prima donnas and World Cup megastars.
  24. That is also the J-Rod who would be #1 pick if anything happened to SRL, ( Gods forbid ). Don't care who wears the shirt, whilst they're on the pitch you bloody well support them.
