Transfer deadline day thread (Summer 2013)
DuncanRG replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
£3m has been quoted as the second bid from Fulham - we're not really talking about good money. SSN reporting from Staplewood now, expecting 'one final deal to complete the squad'. Sharp and Forte named as potential leavers, nothing in Cork deal. -

SSN just went into ads saying they'll be over to St Marys soon for 'any potential moves' - shots of Lee Barnard and Jack Cork. -

Sky are reporting that Blackpool are after Sam Baldock and Stephen Hunt, both wingers. -
Eh? I think more people more frequently lose grip on reality following a defeat than a heartening win. At least we're not talking about relegation yet.

He's dual nationality, France never wanted him but Italy knew it was better to get someone who would only be on the bench and be ready in case Balotelli got injured.

Is this on pay per view?

Can't believe he's got in ahead of Le Fondre.

Official: Saints academy player most expensive player ever
DuncanRG replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Congratulations to him. Can't wait to see how he does, lord knows it won't be easy. -
Shows how short we had to come to find space. Norwich held us out very well and without any width from Clyne and Shaw we didn't know where to go. Kept trying to cut through balls in but the movement wasn't quite sharp enough to fool the defenders.

I did, a whole lot. Got caught out on the right a few times when we were chasing the game and pushing up to score but other than that we were okay.

Liverpool and Manchester United away travel.. Good deal
DuncanRG replied to bowers-sfc's topic in The Saints
That's a cracking deal. -
I'll be annoyed if this is true. Bought two tickets when they first went on sale, had to give one back and got told to wait for the general sale.

Why has everyone reverted to questioning the manger ?
DuncanRG replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
Very few were talking about top 6, and while an alarming amount thought we could hold our midfield up to Man United's it was more food for thought than a serious point about being that good as a team. I think we will finish in the top half this season, and that forecast will not change unless/until we are a significant number of games in and are seriously off course. At the moment we are a truly insignificant number of games in, but even if we take them to mean anything we are actually on course for around 50 points. It is not to defend the last two games, it is to point out that they do not spell the imminent decline of our football club. -
Meanwhile everyone questions why he has, perhaps ruthlessly, replaced Cork with Wanyama. He's not making his selections to be polite.

Is four points from three games a dip in form? Maybe it's too early to tell - fancy that! -
Get this on the banner between Rickie and Le Tissier.

Because football fans are fickle, short-sighted and reactionary morons. -
When someone leaves their position to track a player or win the ball, someone else comes in to cover. That is a 'disciplined approach' and a basic requirement of any Premier League team, which we more than fulfil. You have to be particularly well-drilled to do it when you're closing down on the ball all the time, but we are and have been especially so under Pochettino.

Three games. He had an off day in one of his first three games.

Moses has gone to Liverpool on a season-long loan.

Away? A top half side should look to beat their rivals at home but Carrow Road's a tough place to go and better teams struggle there. We did remarkably well last season and even then it took a penalty save to earn us a point. -
Sorry, should have been clearer - I mean I'd rather see Fox and Chambers stay back away from home if them going forward will leave us vulnerable, as it normally does with Fox. Of course I want Clyne and Shaw back, cause they can attack and defend equally well. I did also fail to mention that later in the game Chambers seriously lost track of Redmond and left him in all kinds of space. You mean that year we lost to Sunderland at home?
