  1. What rubbis. I doubt you remember 'when we never had it so good' or when people bought there own council houses. Every Labour Government ends up screwing our economy and leaving us bankrupt.
  2. I am sorry but that is absurd. It is up to the individual not the State.
  3. Yes because there is a magic fairy who is going to off all of our debts. Borrowing this year will be the highest as a percentage of GDP in Europe.
  4. Better than the overpaid, politically correct, interfering stasis that run our lifes now. These people do it for out of duty.
  5. and Brown's alternative......the State. Interfering, self righteous, paranoid, controlling, stasi like, politically correct, unfair, idle, ineffective, bloated, wasteful, unmotivated and bloody expensive. Lets look for an alternative.
  6. I am afraid that is right. We are best to stick with 32,000.
  7. I hate career politicians. Make a fortune and then go and pay back your country in duty.
  8. Agreed. The price we paid to get into the EU was our fishing fleet - the biggest in the world at the time. We handed over our waters and they have now over fished it and left communities all around the country without any work. Do not ever think they give a stuff about us.
  9. I do worry for you Solentstars, who said anything about leaving our biggest market? Do you really think that they will want to turn their back on us? We will still trade with them but would have the flexibility to make ourselves more competitive. Being competitive is not about lowering wages it is about the ludicrous level of red tape that comes out of the whole bloated system. The EU is a good idea very badly executed.
  10. and they wouldn't want access to our markets. Do you really think that we would stop trading with the EU if we left Euriope. We could make ourselves ultra competitive by doing so.
  11. That amused me - Gary Barlow I think
  12. Its flawed but you do need a government that can act. PR Would give us an election every year.
  13. Yup I love our left wing PMs in waiting.
  14. Well Blair won a 66 majority with 36% of the vote in 2005.
  15. That is what is wrong with politics. It is a career now not something done out of duty or principle. Who in the current labour government has ever worked in the private sector? How can they know what it is like to run a business?
  16. No. We have to have standards
  17. Agree about George Osborne - instantly dislikeable. Where is Ken Clarke. William Hague is impressive but that seems to be where it stops. The political system means that it is a lot harder for tories to win a landslide - 2005 there was just 3% between the two and yet Labour won a 66 seat majority
  18. I think you could put down high inflation in 1980 to Labour's legacy. They always leave the country skint.
  19. Religion and prejudice is different. You are being intolerant.
  20. Antipodeans but we know they will go back at some point. There motive is less long term than the problem ones.
  21. This is Britain today. A telephone conversation is overheard and somebody thinks it is lucky they were not reported. I suppose the lady they could have been arrested taken to the police station and interviewed on suspicion of discrimantion. Talk about Big Brother! Its her house she rent it to who she wants.
  22. What the left do not understand is that we are in a global trading environment and if we are to appeal to people to invest in this country then we have to make it an attractive place to come. Workers rights are great but not when there is no work. What Gordon has done is to put more and more people in the public sector as the private sector shrinks - he then taxes the private sector more and more as his debts mount up shrinking it further. Industry and business are the only things that can pull us out of the recession not a bloated public sector.
  23. Its the eloquent way that you deliver your argument.
  24. Try to argue the point rather than the poster.
  25. Well if you recognise their illegal status then I would get them to leave and ensure that we would have 600,000 jobs made available to those that are legal British citizens.
