  1. Brown v Cameron
  2. View from the Top, score draw or not I think the whole debate thing actually is unhealthy. I hate this X factor politics. Whatever your politics its unfair to Brown and that is not good from for democracy even if we listen to Clegg when many of us would not normally.
  3. George Osbourne is supposed to be tye great strategist but has not grasped that he is the weak link. Clarke is getting on and his pro European views would have split the parties if he was chancellor
  4. Ken Clarke like many of us, is a compassionate Tory who believes that you have to create wealth from the private sector to improve services. We have the same aims but not the same method. Like Pompey you cannot just borrow.
  5. Mikey it is the other's replies that have been edited.
  6. Not an Osborne fan myself. Ken Clarke was the best chancellor this country ever had.
  7. Interesting watch.
  8. Where are all the radical thinkers, where are all the opinion shapers and where are the risk takers in British Politics. Until we find them, we wont get real and sustainable change. Career politicians taught spin, sound bites and image. We want principle and passion even if you do not agree with what they are saying. Alan Clarke, Michael Foot, Tony Benn, Norman Tebbit, Maggie.
  9. It depends on how his relationship with Nicola but I would think that yhe would like the stability of Saints and the future.
  10. Spot on. Argue with people do not ban them.
  11. It is bad news for the Tories but there will be two weeks of scrutiny and I think that the Lib Dems policy of joining the Euro will be their downfall. Personally I just want to see the gravel drive socialists and vindictive labour party out. Would rather the shallow Tories but if Clegg does it then great.
  12. Cameron close winner over Clegg. Still dislike politicians.
  13. I smoke (although regularly trying to give up) I drink heavily (I enjoy it) I eat red meat (its good with Red wine) It is none of the goverment's business and if I get ill then you will not have to pay for me to play scrabble in an old peoples home for ten years.
  14. Kate Hoey driven by principle. Bet she did not fiddle her expenses.
  15. What a personal tragedy. A government that puts young men into war zone and then insists they are judged by their own politically correct obsessions. Should have been punished though because that is the discipline that the army is founded on.
  16. If you want to have a sensible football wager back Korea to win their group in the World Cup.
  17. The farming industry is very much interlinked, most farms (with the exception of the East) practise mixed farming. Does that answer your question. Sadly your stand on this highlights the left's deep rooted hatred of farming and rural communities. That is why they spent 700 hours debating the irrelevant fox hunting (how many lives did that improve?) and just 7 on discussing the war on Iraq which will scar our relations in that part of the world for years and years. I expect you would stand by the disproportionate time spent on this?
  18. BTF can you not see why people in the industry do not feel that comfortable with this situation and why they might just find it offensive? They 'choose' not to eat meat because they do not agree with it and are not fit to represent or make the best decisions in the interests of the industry as a result. The situation exposes Labour's contempt for the farming industry and the people in it.
  19. You do not think that there is a theme developing there. What message does it send out to the proud British farming industry to be run by vegetarians. Do you think that the French would do that? It is absurd to say it does not matter!! Of course it matters to have these farming run by people who are fundememntally against it. Would you put a Muslim in charge of Jewsish affairs?
  20. Actually I do not think that he is fit to run a department when he does not eat meat for moral reasons. How can he go out to represent the UK farming industry when he is not a consumer. DEFRA is a complete shambles. Yes I do believe that people running their departments should have experience in that field because they would have a better understanding and would be passionate I think it was a reflection of just how much labour despises the rural communities because they believe they do not vote for them.
  21. The governemnet despise farming so much so that they have a vegetarian minister responsible for the meat & livestock industry. How offensive is that to those trying to make a living.
  22. we would be screwed like Greece if the value of the pound was kept arificially high.
  23. Always worth another look though bungle. Prudence being exposed for his short comings when we were doing well.
  24. Bungle I would have to contest that. You do not like Hannan because you did not like what he says and the success that he has had saying it as it is. He clearly believes in what he is saying and tows his own line and not always the party lines. I call that principled.
