Conservative Support Growing In The Latest Polls
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to dune's topic in The Lounge
That is what is wrong with politics. It is a career now not something done out of duty or principle. Who in the current labour government has ever worked in the private sector? How can they know what it is like to run a business? -
No. We have to have standards

Conservative Support Growing In The Latest Polls

Agree about George Osborne - instantly dislikeable. Where is Ken Clarke. William Hague is impressive but that seems to be where it stops. The political system means that it is a lot harder for tories to win a landslide - 2005 there was just 3% between the two and yet Labour won a 66 seat majority -
I think you could put down high inflation in 1980 to Labour's legacy. They always leave the country skint.

Religion and prejudice is different. You are being intolerant.

Antipodeans but we know they will go back at some point. There motive is less long term than the problem ones.

This is Britain today. A telephone conversation is overheard and somebody thinks it is lucky they were not reported. I suppose the lady they could have been arrested taken to the police station and interviewed on suspicion of discrimantion. Talk about Big Brother! Its her house she rent it to who she wants.

What the left do not understand is that we are in a global trading environment and if we are to appeal to people to invest in this country then we have to make it an attractive place to come. Workers rights are great but not when there is no work. What Gordon has done is to put more and more people in the public sector as the private sector shrinks - he then taxes the private sector more and more as his debts mount up shrinking it further. Industry and business are the only things that can pull us out of the recession not a bloated public sector.

Its the eloquent way that you deliver your argument.

Try to argue the point rather than the poster.

Well if you recognise their illegal status then I would get them to leave and ensure that we would have 600,000 jobs made available to those that are legal British citizens.

No, normal is a word defined in the dictionary and under that definition homosexual is not the norm. It is whether we respect people who are not normal. That is tolerance and tolerance is a very British trait.

Why do they not just tell the truth

VFTT I am really sorry I am wrong then. Maybe my local school was just a one off but they had to take on somebody as a result of the arrival of a Polish family.

He is politically active not the sort of chap that you normally find on the street.

Do not rest it to long. The question you need to ask is did it cost more resources to teach Polish children? As I said I have no bones with the Poles - they did a lot for our economy and I like that bit in the Battle of Britain when the Polish pilots spot the messerschmitt 'enough of that Polish chit chat'..... I can however see why some people had issues because they were directly effected. Raising them with the PM should not make you become a bigot.

Slightly different. The chap that accosted Cameron was a Guardian writer.

The Poles in our area got a special english teacher at primary school. The ones that left their children behind received child benefit for their children in Poland. Now if we invite them over then I do not begrudge that in part because they pay their taxes but we should have been a lot more organised when we allowed this to happen. The Poles gave our economy a boost but I can see why people at the bottom of the pile felt priced out.

Bit pointless.
-
Its true I read it in the Daily mail. So how do you teach Polish kids?
-
It was a big issue and handled very badly. Our economy is knackered and so is the pound so many have now gone home. You and Gordon are wrong to label people bigots without looking at the full picture.

Umm Gordon did voice his opinion and exposed what he thinks of ordinary people who are worried about everyday issues that effect their day to day lives. He also gave us some insight into the way he treats his staff - someone was going to cop it for letting him see that biggoted woman. 'Ridiculous' and then we heard a very telling thud! Real pantomine stuff - 'he's behind you!!!!'

He was a political great
