Come work in the wealth creating sector BTF. When you work for yourself you will see that you have no rights what so ever just more and more and more red tape. Little thanks for paying for the non productive sector.
-
and all that Bank Holiday Traffic to contend with now BTF. You will have to cancel your driving round and round plans!

" Yesterday The Telegraph had a letter that gave information about how much money the BBC spent on job advertisements for the different newspapers: In The Guardian, the BBC spent a massive £231,944; in The Telegraph, £32,535; in The Times only £6,159. yet The Telegraph has by far the largest circulation of the three quality dailies, with The Times some way behind and The Guardian a poor third. Don't even ask about The Express because the BBC doesn't advertise at all there."

This is fantastic. Good luck!
-
Maybe it will help go someway to healing the scars of yesteryear. I hope so as I like the Irish.

She helps edits the rolling news. Quite influential. What has changed the BBC sources most of its staff by advertising in the Guardian. It is hardly going to be a left wing blog is it. Does that mean that those on the right cannot question the bbc's impartiality? It is in the culture of the BBC.

I find them offensive but ultimately in the private sector they are generated by being profitable. -
It was about gold plated pensions. I would join the picket line for anybody fighting for their jobs.

The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)

I hate bankers with a passion; what they did to the global economy and ordinary people's lives was despicable. Unfortunately we need the bankers to rebuild the system that they screwed; it is just the way it is. -
I can live without it; you might one day need the fire and police services. The BBC has a significant advantage over other commercial operators and should be seen as neutral. This is not the case with often outrageous incidences of biased reporting. This is reflected in the fact that most job vacancies are advertsied in the Guardian. The strike of journalists highlighted their true colours - what was it Crick said? something about even watching the BBC would be 'breaking the strike'. Now I do not mind paying my licence fee but object to paying it to be preached too. The BBC should be the bastion of impartiality.
-
I am guilty of watching the Telly Peer on the Apprentice but generaly I do not watch the BBC. I watch Sky Sports, Sky news and the History Channel. I would argue that the Beeb is more bias than Sky news.
-
Real vaue for money maybe but the licence fee is a tax. Why should those of us that do not want to pay for the BBC - I have Sky an have no need of the politically biased coverage offered by the BBC.
-
I do not doubt your sincerity BTF. We both believe in the same goal but not how that is achieved.
-
It hopefully will for one weekend and that is a good thing.
-
and you had to ask a load of people to your daughters wedding that you did not really know or like because of who you are..... I part own a small loss making hotel near Winchester. More a pub with bedrooms.
-
Children in Need thats the one where Terry picks up 8k an hour. I am not sure BTF you quite understand; the happy couple cannot just have an ordinary wedding because they are our future King and Queen; are they in charge of the guest list? I expect even Prudence Gordon will have to be asked. Do you think that all these tourists will come over to watch a normal wedding aka four weddings and a funeral. It is a commercial opportunity that many in the private sector wealth creators are looking forward to making a bob or two. As a hotelier myself I hope that the cheery people of our great country win through and it is an event to make us proud that fills our bars, restaurants and bedrooms.
-
BTF why are you obsessed with spending other people's hard earned money - are you proposing some form of duty on hoteliers and burger stalls during the weekend so you can give it to Lenny Henry and Dawn French to go to Africa and show them what it looks like when you eat six meals a day?
-
What to the sports section?
-
In my experience it is not the minorities that put a stop to this; it is the Guardian reading intellectual stasi who stir up resentment by becoming 'offended' on behalf of other people.
-
I don't think I'm superior to anyone in any way - equally I'll not be seduced by the hype. Its just that you refer to us as lemmings BTF.
